Hi! I had a DMX, chemo, no radiation. I had expanders and then exchanged surgery to shapped silicone implants 10 weeks ago. I'm having pain in my right breast when I overdo, exercise, do some housechores. It's a weird feeling, like constant muscle pain, tightness, sharp pain. When I rest for a few days it gets better. My left breast is not painful. It's fine. I'm right handed by the way. What can it be? Cannot I lead a normal life? Have this happened to you? Thank you.

Hi Rosa, did you have any physical therapy after surgery? I got relief from the one sided pain I was having after seeing a therapist that specialized in post mastectomy/reconstruction patients. She was able to release the cording I had and address some range of motion pain I had. Your description of your pain makes me think cording or scar tissue that needs to be addressed.

Hi Rosa_Aurora, you are not too far out from your surgery and the breasts take a long time to heal. That said, I had a lot of pain with the expander and the implant. Is the implant under the pectoral muscle? I would make an appointment with your doctor and make sure though.

Thanks. I had delayed breasts reconstruction, expanders and after that silicone implants under pectoral muscles.

Hi Aurora, I could not stand the implant under the pec, but I am extremely active. My body could not handle the implant, so I had a flap replacement which has totally kicked my ass. I think that you over do it. I think you are over doing it. Can you have someone do the hard house work? Your right breast is probably tighter as it could be a source of more pain. What were you told about activity during recovery?
