hello I was wondering if there were any other ladies out there her2 positive that recently had a baby.. I was diagnosed when my baby was 13 months old first felt it when she was 10.5 months but I never was able to get milk out of that breast so I know things were brewing much earlier than that.. Just read some statistics that if you are diagnosed 5 years or earlier after having a baby your chances of breast cancer returning local or mestastic are 3 times more likely just great :(

    My baby was 3 months old when I got the official diagnosis. She is turning 5 in August. I did have a metastic diagnosis after 2 years. for what it is worth

    I know this is an older thread but I wanted to respond.

    I was recently diagnosed 4 months after having a baby. I asked my MO if this made my prognosis worse and he said it didn't

    I was diagnosed when my daughter was 6 months old. She is now 4 1/2 years old.

    I was diagnosed when weaning my daughter at 15 months old. Just finished my year of Herceptin treatment.

    I was diagnosed while still breastfeeding my 1 year old daughter. HER2+, e/p-. I'm only 33, no family history, not something I ever thought could happen to me. I began chemo last week. I feel like I'm living in a different world than everyone else my age.

    My daughter was two when I was diagnosed. I had two miscarriages prior to her arrival. Long story short I spent three years being pregnant off and on. I am convinced that's what triggered my cancer, and I fed it with birth control pills after she was born...

    AnneMarieV- I know exactly how you are feeling about living in a different world from everyone else our age. I too have no family history and was dx'd at 35. All of it is so scary and even more so when you have little ones. Best wishes to everyone on this board! Message me if you ever want to talk. :)

    I was diagnosed at the age of 37 while breastfeeding my son. It has been right a two years ago that I found my lump.

    diagnosed when baby was 3 months old. I Yoo think there is a link they don't understand yet. Anyone else use fertility treatments

    I am 31, my youngest is 18 months and I have just been diagnosed er and pr - but her2 + absolutely no family history of breast cancer (I originally had a birads 3 score) all of us young moms seem to have the same hormone receptor status. Breast cancer is becoming too common these days, especially seeing more and more young woman. There has got to be something that's causing it

    I was diagnosed four days after my son was born. I hadn't even discharged from the hospital yet. I used fertility treatments with both of my babies.

    This is my first post. I was diagnosed December 3, 2015 with Her2+ ErPr- at age 42 while still nursing my 10 month old son, who was conceived by IVF. I do have a family history with my paternal grandma having breast cancer, but she was in her 60s. Having to stop nursing my son because of this was one of the most heartbreaking things I have had to do, but I know surviving this to live to see him grow up is what I need to focus on.

    My last chemo treatment is Thursday 3/31 but sometimes I still am shocked that this has happened to me.

    Getting your head around everything you've been through so far we're sure is very difficult but we're all here to help to support you processing it all.

    Thank you so much for your comments! I am so grateful to have found this wonderful community.

    I only had mouth sore in one round (the first). My major symptoms have been diarrhea, nausea and fatigue. (And of course hair loss). The last 2 rounds were much better since my MO decreased the Taxotere dosage. Thank you so much for asking

    My baby was 3 months old when I was diagnosed. It hurt when I breastfed but I thought it was a clogged duct. I was already stage IV by the time they caught it. I was 31, Dad's grandma and both great grandmothers had breast cancer when they were older. No BRCA issues. Not sure what was up with me. No fertility treatments and I had a normal pregnancy. Just bad luck.

    I was breastfeeding my 11 month old when I was diagnosed stage iv at the age of 38. I broke my collarbone and weeks of testing later they informed me I had Metastic bc. Triple positive. Was my 3rd normal pregnancy. Yes I do think there is a link between all the pregnancy hormones and bc cancer

    My 31-year-old daughter was just diagnosed April 29, 2016. She is still breastfeeding her 11-month-old daughter. She is heartbroken at the thought of weaning her. Her diagnosis is HR-, HER2+, grade 3 IDC. This is so very scary for all of us. It is nice to come to the page and see so many positive things.

    Hi Stormi,

    I know exactly how she feels. I had to wean my 10 month old in order to start chemo. That was the most heartbreaking thing to me about this and what made me cry. It is such a special thing between woman and child and to have to stop is awful. My baby boy is now 15 months and transitioned beautifully and still needs his mama. I pray she responds well to treatment and pray for her during this tough time. It is a blessing to have been found before progressing any further.
