Tear Puddles

I hope you don't mind me reaching out. I am having such a rough time. My mom, who is 69, and honestly more active than me, had an MRI done which has made me nearly fall off the edge. Unfortunately, the MRI came back with suspicious lesions and is suggestive of metastatic disease. My mom has never been diagnosed with any cancer prior. She had polio as a child but has been healthy up until this latest finding.

Do you know if when people mention false positives, is it mainly for MRIs on the breast? My mom's MRI was on her lumbar and now the doctor's are focusing on breast but we have no idea. We get the biopsy results on Tuesday. I can't eat, sleep or even focus. I was in Publix trying to give my Mom the best Easter lunch and the tears just started to roll down my cheeks.

I am so humbled by the supportive community but I feel like an intruder because this is a breast cancer board and yet my Mom's MRI says Metastatic disease. When I search online I can't find anybody who has had MRIs come back with that finding.

Thank you for being a supportive community.

Respectfully,

Heather
