Meeting with RO

I'm meeting with him on 4/11. I've seen his partner a couple times, one after dx and one time after sx so it is set that I'll have rads in my chart. But I am meeting this guy for the first time. How many meetings are there before you actually get rads? I know there is planning and such involved. Just curious to guestimate when that'll start up assuming I'm good to go. TIA

    I was told the rule of thumb was that planning takes about 2 weeks from the time of your simulation. It turned out to be less than that for me.

    I'd say plan being ready to start radiation about 1-2 weeks after the meeting with your RO, assume you're medically cleared for it.

    I met with my Rads Dr on Wed after my Fri DX. The next time I met with him was the day of my last adjuvant Taxol. Be ordered a new MRI with contrast which was done before I actually went to the last Taxol. I started rads the next week and Femara (it was not available as generic letrozole them) the week after starting rads.

    There is no "One Size Fits All"! We are each unique so what is appropriate for one is not the same for all. Not all Drs have the SME views as to the best TX for us indi usually.

    At my meeting after surgery we did simulation and I started rads about a week and a half later.
