jerseytomato (love the name)
Thanks so much for that info.
PS So sorry to hear about your nerve pain - I was lucky, no pains after my lumpectomy, just soreness in the armpit from the SN procedure.

thank you for the response srbreastcancersurvivor! I just can't come to a decision on having radiation or not. I want to reduce the risk of recurrence but at what cost? I never thought I would have to make a decision like this. Maybe after I get the results from the BRCA gene testing, I will know what to do? I am also a runner...awesome you are too!!
Thank you!

I was just diagnosed with a 7.5 cm whack of DCIS with very minute microinvasion. I think I will go on the AI's as recommended but do not want to do rads. I will roll the dice and hope that I am in the 50% of women that it DOES NOT recur in! Meanwhile doing everything under the sun to strengthen my immune system, get even healthier and live a long and productive life. The rads thing is VERY hard. Especially when the Cancer is on the left side. I already have an independent risk factor for heart disease, as I have Type 1 Diabetes...so don't need rads to accelerate that. So for now, I am NOT doing rads. Maybe I will change my mind in the next few weeks with more study and reading...but I am okay with my decision. I am 61 and would love to be 80 +....
Thanks ladies!

Hi, I am diagnosed with tubulo lobular carcinoma on July 6th 2017, Had a sugery and it was found 1.5 cm Cancer lump was removed with margin of 2 cm (20 mm) each side. Post surgery Histopathology report confirmed that cut margins are free of cancer. It shows ER/PR + and HER negative , Ki-67 is 20% which is good news. No carcinoma in any Lymph node.
Oncologist suggests going for Radiation and Medicines. My question is that if Tubular carcinoma is not going to come back from what I found from Internet, it is completely removed from my body, Histopathology report says Intraductal carcinoma is not seen , do I need radiation?. I appreciate for any suggestion regarding treatment. I don't want to take radiation or medicines. What are risks?
