Chest tightness 3 weeks after lumpectomy?? is it normal

I am having tightness in my upper chest I am not out of breath just feels tight with a slight burning. Is this normal after have a lumpectomy three weeks ago.

    Hi Rosierosie:

    I don't know what you mean by "tightness", but that is a descriptor that may be symptomatic of other things and should be reported as soon as possible.

    Call your doctor now (like now) to report all of your symptoms. They may ask you questions to understand what you are feeling, and decide if you need to be seen.

    I called my surgeon he said it was normal, Is just a strange feeling feels tight and burning feeling , It feels like my bra is too tight I am nervous because when I went to the Med Onc. he asked how long I smoked and how many packs a day. I have not smoked in 18 years but I smoked for 28. Medicare gives a lung screening so he wanted me to go. But I just had a lumpectomy and have to go for radiation. I just dont want any more test. and when I done with radiaiton I would discuss it. So when I got this tightness in my chest I automatically thought of lung cancer. It so sad because everything that comes up I think oh no its cancer.

    also felt that every pain was cancer glad to say sweetie ive been a Survivor 22 yrs this yr Praise God hang in there it gets better.ms phil idc stage2 Lmast 0\3 nodes chemo n rads n 5 yrs on tamoxifen.

    Glad you checked in. You should feel better as you continue to heal.

    I know that worry. And any routine test or screening is now more of a big deal for me. When a result comes back okay, I feel like I "did" something and got an A+ for being normal.
