You have a 3 month window of time before you have to get rads once your site has been opened. You'd want to start by June 3rd. Sounds far away, doesn't it? Once you see the RO it moves pretty quick. That may be part of the wait to see him. Also, Easter is cutting into a lot of schedules. Good luck, I just started this week.

Hi Kalk I had surgery on 12/3/2015 and didn't see my RO until 1/12/2016.

The RO (and BS) has to confirm that your surgery site is completely healed before scheduling rads.

My lumpectomy site didn't heal in my 2 month wait and I was afraid they wouldn't go ahead with rads but they did. They had to! There was just a bit of "weeping" from the scar and now it's all dried up nicely from the rads. Go figure.

Betting there's a range of normal, but I didn't see my RO until five weeks after my initial lumpectomy (had to go back in 'cause they didn't get clear margins)

My lumpectomy was 12/21/15, SNB on 2/16/16. Got my tattoos today and radiation starts next week. It has been a looooong drawn out process for me.

Hi kalk. I had my lumpectomy on Jan. 29 and started radiation on March 8th so about 5 1/2 weeks in between. Everybody is right, waiting seems like forever, but when you get started it flies by. I actually met my RO on Feb. 24th but it took awhile for markings and simulations and final approval to start.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, everyone.. You really have reduced my anxiety trifold. You are so right, the wait seems incredibly long, but will go by much faster with friends like you to talk to. Best wishes to everyone out there.

I truly appreciate that you took the time to be there....
