My surgery is over!! Yay!
HI everyone!
I am home and the surgery is behind me! I was at the hospital at 645 and home by 7 PM.... I had the wire localization procedure beforehand and it wasn't that bad... The worst part was being compressed in the mammogram machine for that extended period of time but the actual wire placement was really not painful at all.
My surgery was at 11 AM... Met with the surgeon, plastic surgeon and anesthesiologist before.. Breast surgeon gave me a big hug and kiss, plastic surgeon drew many lines on my breast and anesthesologist gave me some happy medicine so I was a happy camper. I was wheeled into the operating room and the next think I remember I woke up in the recovery room... Had little to no pains the plastic surgeon gave me something in the IV and was slightly nauseous so was given something for that.....
I was given something to eat and drink, went to the bathroom and was discharged... It really was not as bad as my mind had thought it was going to be.
I went in as a D cup and told them to take as much as they needed to. I didn't care if I went down to an A cup as long as there was something there.... Well to my surprise and delight , I am now a C cup, a perky and firm.... They put a sports bra on me and gave me one to take home and I have to wear t for 6 weeks only taking it off to shower....
Both my breast surgeon and plastic surgeon called me around 9PM to see how I was doing.. I said I can't believe that I only went down one cup size and they said I had a lot of breast tissue to work withs they were able to do that.. I have a followup with the plastic surgeon on Thursday and with the BS on the 31.
Now the healing begins... Waiting on the pathology results ... The BS told my husband that everything went well. no surprises. only removed the sentinel nodes and they looked good......
Thanks everyone for your advice and encouragement... Anyone facing surgery rest assured it is not as bad as your mind is telling you... I welcome questions and private messages.....
Thanks again and good luck to everyone
