I have about a 2cm mass with a Noting ham score of 5/9. I am 46 years old. Have had a partial hysterectomy. I have 3 boys 9, 10, and 12. I want to go as aggressive as possible. Some suggestions given to me were bilateral mysectomy with reconstruction. I have also been told by a friend that I should have my ovaries out to make sure to stop the estrogen and progesterone production. Should I also have chemo to really make sure to get any cells left behind. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Welcome cynbarr. I am sorry you find yourself needing to be here but you definitely found the best place possible to get support! I assume you have met with a surgeon? What does your surgeon recommend. Chemo or no chemo will depend on your Medical Oncologist (MO) and the results of your oncotype DX assuming you are not HER2 positive. Once you have surgery you will get the final pathology that includes tumor size, grade etc. Your MO should order the oncotype on your tumor. As far as lumpectomy, mastectomy or bilateral mastectomy there is a lot to consider including reconstruction. When you meet with your surgeon ask for a plastic surgery consult as well.
