BIRADS 3 - two complicated cysts in left breast

I found these lumps 3 weeks ago. A 6-month follow up ultrasound was recommended but I want to get a biopsy instead of waiting that long.

I am 26yrs old and no family history of breast cancer but I am still very concerned. I'm not the sit and wait type when it comes to these things.

If requested, are doctors usually ok with doing a biopsy even before the recommended 6-month wait?

    Your insurance may not pay for a biopsy on a Birads 3 since it isn't recommended.

    I've had a complex (complicated) cyst and they come about as close to being 100% benign as they can be without being 100%. I personally would just do the follow up, but that's just me.

    Thanks for the response. I am Canadian so I think it would be covered under our health care system but I'm not entirely sure. I guess I'll call my doc and see what they say.

    The more unnecessary biopsies, the more scar tissue which will make things worse later. A short term radiology follow up is usually all that's recommended for a BIRADS 3.
