I have Dr. Joan Kramer...she is brilliant, highly competent, kind and loving. She has been my mo since July 2015 and I went through neoadjuvant chemo and bmx already and still in herceptin treatment through July 2016. She is my favorite of my healthcare team at Emory.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing Diana. That helps a lot when going to a brand new team.

I'm new to this but my Oncologist is at Emory and her name is Dr. Jane Meisel. She came highly recommended to me from a few other women. Great bedside manner and I feel as though I am in capible hands. Also, she's good with communications!

@ Diana, so sorry to hear of the recurrence in 2013. I hope the combo you are on is beating that cancer! What is your diagnosis this time?

@Tasal, thanks for your insight - I had read something good about Dr. Jane Meisel somewhere online, like a recommendation also. She looks sooo young. Do you feel like she is very knowledgeable?

kaelia..this time Stage1, Grade 2, Her2+ Er and Pr-....have finished tch chemo, bmx surgery and on herceptin only through July. I travel to Emory from out of state every 3 weeks now. Emory is a great place. My BC this time was a new primary instead of a recurrence, on other side. 2013 DCIS was Er,Pr+. Who is your surgical oncologist?

Diana, it's good news that you will be finishing in July! That's soon! I hope I like Emory; I had a phenomenal oncologist, Dr. Raul Oyola! He was extremely supportive, attentive, explained everything in details, personable, went above and beyond to accomodate me when needed. I will miss him lots! The only reason, I am leaving is because Kennestone doesn't open on the weekends and I need to have my treatments on the weekends :-(

Hi Gramen, sorry I had not logged in a while. For chemo at Emory on weekends, yes you can, either on Saturdays or Sundays. For my first chemo there, they scheduled me for the week because they wanted to watch for any reaction to the chemo; but afterwards, weekends :-). Hope that helps!
