For the TC chemoregiment is neuropathy a side effect for both T and C or just the taxoter? I only want to ice for the one that caused side effects for hands and feet not both if i dont have to

Neuropathy is a more common side effect of taxanes. It can take about an hour so it is still a fairly long duration to be icing. I have seen less study of prevention of neuropathy with icing, and more icing for the prevention of nail loss and lifting issues. I took B6 and L-glutamine during chemo for neuropathy prevention.

Like Special K says, there aren't PROVEN results about Neuropathy and icing - but nail loss there is.

My sister and I both iced during Taxol. Neither of us had black nails or lost nails.

We both have SLIGHT neuropathy - hers in one foot, mine in another. But I am still convinced,

it helped keep away some of the neuropathy.

My MO did a study about icing and neuropathy - the results were almost 100% very little or NO neuropathy. I was patient 38 of 39 women to get to do it! It was complete in late 2015 so I don't know if she published yet - but they were going to start having ALL taxol patients do it.

Let me know if you want information about the protocol or what gloves/slippers we used.
