Let's Post our Daily Exercise

Dh and I hiked 2 miles today on a hilly trail. Got nearly 40 stairs on my Fitbit Surge and got to try out the GPS function for the hike. Pretty cool. Wishing I had not used my walking stick, however, as my pects are now really sore.
On the way back from our hike we stopped at a nursery/landscaping place that we had seen before. Ended up dropping nearly $900 on almost 3 tons of river rock + pinestraw for our yard and gardens which will be delivered this Friday. Dh and dd have their work cut out for them next weekend moving all of that rock.
Lounging in bed letting the Fitbit rest.

Been off the boards for a few days and the only exercise has been lift, move, sculpt, as the new house is finished and I closed on Thursday. We've been moving small boxes/bins and today painted two walls (one in my room, one in sisters). One coat wore us out so will put second coat on each Monday, finish laundry/packing Tuesday, movers coming Wednesday. I did get out for a 5 mile bike ride this morning as I feel lost without some 'regular' exercise.
You all seem to be doing well and/or healing.
Night sculpted friends.

congrats patoo on closing! Lots of work I know. What color(s) did you choose for the walls?
TH, meant to also ask age of yr mattress. They say replace after eight years but it's a big expense. We got our Q more than ten years ago and needed a new one. Morning stiffness - blame the bed or the Arimidex? Glad we finally have a BR big enough to hold a K. Frame and mattress both made in WI so feeling good about doing my part for the state's economy. 'Night all. ♥
-
Went to see Patoo's new home today and it is really nice. She and her sister were able to pick colors and appointments and they did a great job! Now the fun begins!
-
Have been in total rest mode all week as on Monday I twisted incorrectly and pulled a muscle in my back, did go to Body Jam on Monday night but left halfway through class which is something I hate doing but the back half was just too much. Today did a 75 minute Body Combat class then had a wonderful massage
Congratulations Patoo, I know it's probably too late but Home Depot has a paint that's a one coat cover and it worked really well on a wall we had that was red and is now white. Mary hope the foot held up for the run. Scottie I haven't worked out all week but my Fitbit numbers are really impressive, I have been helping a friend who has a similar business to me, he needed help doing a catalog fulfillment so for 3 days I have been assembling boxes, therefor using my hands doing repetitive motion and my Fitbait has been recording it as 'steps' I'm going to accept it because there are days when I actually workout hard and forget to wear it
-
Cheryl so sorry about your hurting your back. I am missing pix of all those cute guys that seem to surround you. Only kidding. Hope you heal rapidly . Patoo, congrats on the house.
-
((Cheryl)) sorry about your back. Hope the rest does the trick. LOL re: 'steps' at work. I remember someone getting in a bunch of 'steps' while doing her holiday baking. (lots of mixing & stirring)
Waiting for mom to call for our usual Sun morning chat, then will head out for a walk.
Mary (and Ruth), this piece about Milwaukee Brewers mascot Hank was in today's paper.
-
Patoo - sounds like you're in the homestretch and will be settled soon. Cheryl - take care of that back. Badger - thanks for the Hank article. My Nats big controversy is that we still have the idiot closer who tried to choke the league MVP.
As for mattresses, we've had a SleepNumber for years. DH has scoliosis so his back is twitchy. It's been much improved since we got the mattress. I like being able to adjust it when I want. I usually keep pretty firm but when I was in AIs I'd make it softer to ease the joint pain.
The ankle held up and I was able to complete the 8k! I even finished 3rd in my age group. Of course, there were only 3 in my age group.
Just got back from seeing Zootopia - it is so much fun. It was Disney at its best - I can highly recommend it. And underneath it all, it has a good message, especially for our current times.
Here I am after the race! It was a St Patrick's Day Race Fest so there was a lot of green!
-
Yea, Mary!
Patoo, wow, they sure build houses quickly down there! It will feel great to be really settled!
Ouch Cheryl! Hope your back behaves. I miss the pictures of your cute guys, and I am NOT kidding!
Have fun with the rocks, Scottie. We did landscaping with rocks last fall (and still have some of the edging to finish off); it is lots of work!!!
Sounds like the Brewers have lots of problems. Yikes!
Nice here again; I walked pretty slowly but longer than yesterday & did a pilates DVD.
-
Thanks all. It is a lot of work but this should be my last move (Wednesday) ever! A friend who had not seen my sister for 30 years (they reconnected in December) has bought the lot next to ours so we get to go through the whole process again with her but this time we get to sit on the lanai and watch as her house goes up. She will live with us until complete (sold her DC historic home in 1 day!)
Packing, lifting and sculpt will be my exercise for the next few days.
Ruth glad you are feeling better. hbcheryl, take care of yourself. You don't want to do damage to your back that cannot be reversed. badger say HI to mom for me. How is your new place?
Night sculpted friends.
-
Oh, yes ruthbru. They can complete a home here in about 75 days from dirt to completion.
-
Thanks everyone my back is fine, the massage really helped, the girl I go to is a LM instructor but her day job is a sports masseuse and she is fantastic, my back hurt but when the massage was over it was actually my hip were the soreness came out. Congrats on the 3rd place finish Mary Badger say hi to your Mom from me too. Patoo be careful with all your bending and lifting and how fun to have reconnected with an old friend. SoCalLisa I'm going to a Suoer Q on May7th so I promise you some cute guy pics, hope your arm is finally healing up and great job on the steps, speaking of which, I'm glad I took the credit for my arm movement Fitbit numbers cause I've forgotten to wear it for the last 2 days and I've probably gotten in the 10000 each day.
Had one of those nights last night, went to bed early woke up at 1am and was awake for 3 hours then when it was time to get up I was wiped out so I missed my first class but made it to Body Combat.
-
Now that the time has changed, I'm trying to push myself as hard as I can for the next two weeks before we travel to two National parks and some other fun places that I will be photographing. Doing some elliptical at the gym, doing incline intervals on the dreadmill, some arm weights and taking urban walks at lunch with my coworker. Meanwhile fighting the inevitable exhaustion from trying to Pump it Up.
At the gym feeding the Fitbit Surge

Did yoga this morning, vegged out this afternoon & went to zumba tonight (where I stayed in the back row right next to the fan). I worked at about 70% of my 'normal'......but am trying to be good and smart.
Scottie, you will have to post some of your pictures when you get back. What parks are you going to? Sounds very fun!
-
For this year's San Antonio group, this was in yesterday's Travel section in the Washington Post - sounds like a great tour of old Spanish missions. I never knew that the first cowboys were actually Native American Indians!

I'm 3 pages behind and not even going to try to catch up. Haven't been getting in as many steps as I'd like to, but still getting 12-13K/day. I'm trying some new meds that have been wrecking havic with me, so have stopped them. Since cancer, if there is a side effect with a med, I get it!!! I tried a new anti-depressant related med and one of the side effects is more or less crawling out of your skin and low and behold that was me these past several days. I didn't take it today and I'm so much better. Waiting till my appt on Thursday to see what the doctor says. I;m about ready to say thanks but no thanks. She is pricey and I'm not getting where I want to be fast enough!!!
Its still spring weather here but winter is due back again on friday!!! just in time for spring!! and speaking of Saturday, my youngest turns 18!!! So excited for her.
-
Ruth I know how you feel, after not going to the gym all week tonight my legs are 'hello you actually think that squatting 100 times and pulse lunging is okay well missy you're wrong, ouch ouch ouch" Karen that's terrible, hope you get your meds sorted out. Scottie I look forward to seeing your photos.
Tonight did Body Pump, my poor quads were shaking like jello after all that squatting and lunging, then did a very low impact Body Jam no jumping around lots of step together stepping. -
Did a 25 minute workout last night.
-
Went back to the pool again last night. this time I was armed with a snorkel. Thought I would try to swim with it so I would not have to come up for air which is when I feel the most pain. Could not get in sync with it. Managed to do 6 laps before the pain was too much. Then I just jogged back and forth.
Hoping to go on the treadmill/elliptical after work today..
-
Went to my Cardio Sculpt class this morning (luckily for me, the teacher was a little under the weather so took it easy on us). I think I will try Barre tonight.
-
Congrats, Mary! PNY, the treadmill sounds like a better option. Glad to hear the back is better, Cheryl.
Went to salsa today. Last night was Body Jam but not low impact. I'm not sure my knees can take this new version.
-
Did close to 3 miles on the treadmill at the gym this evening. Felt good. Was able to go 4.3 miles and hour. I am getting there.
-
I love this!
-
Oh my gosh, moving is tiring!!! Got in my 10,000 steps today and I'm beat. Full move tomorrow then clean old place in next few days and turn in keys. Will take my time unpacking because Rome wasn't built in a day and I want to get it right. We are looking at a 2 night Bahama cruise, maybe April, just to relax. Was told it costs less then $75./pp. After buying a house just might be able to afford that!
Night sculpted friends.
-
Ruth...love it!!!!
Finally broke 15K today...now just to NOT snack and maybe I can drop some of the 7# I've gained since September!!!
Winter will be back in Denver by Thursday night and Friday snow, but by Sunday spring weather (and spring) will be here!!!
-
Patoo I love the photo of you on the lanai, congratulations on the move in. Ahh Karen those magic words 'not to snack' if only I could live by them Congratulations PNY slowly but surely. Heidi the funny thing about Jam is that if you go back and do some of the old releases they are really lame compared to what we're doing now.
Went to Zumba tonight.
-
I love this picture too. I live in Southern NC where it's almost time to wear bathing suits!
Peggy
-
Patoo - moving is hard, but once you get settled it's so nice to look around and enjoy everything you see. Have fun!
Half hour run yesterday after work. For some reason I never got into a rhythm and actually had to walk a lot of it, which is unusual for me. Oh well, some days are great, and some days you just don't have it. Plan on a good swim tonight so hopefully that will get me back into the groove.
-
Here's the walking ladies celebrating St. Patrick's Day and my belated birthday (as you can tell by the boa). The brave ones walked outside. Those of us who have been on the sick list walked inside. A couple smart ones just came for breakfast!
-
Congrats on your new home, Pattoo! So exciting. Nats, glad to hear you were able to run your 8K. Nice work! You look great. I have a race this coming Sunday (the last in my winter series) and I'm a little worried. I've been battling a horrible respiratory thing for 12 days now. Lots of ick going around the office. Did a round of antibiotics and I'm feeling somewhat better, but I lost quite a few training days. And now I think my DH might be coming down with the same thing. Ugh! Ran 3 miles Saturday, 6 Sunday, 3 Monday, and a measly 1 yesterday. Ha! It was so windy yesterday, I almost blew away just trying to get that one in
Ugly day again here--rain and wind. Will have to hit the dreadmill on my lunch hour. Not looking forward to it.
