Neuropathic pain/nerve damage post fat grafting procedure

Hi There-forgive me if this is addressed elsewhere. Didn't come up in my searches. I had a fat-grafting procedure in 2014, to even out my silicone implants. Everything went well. My donor sites were my flanks. Over time, I still had extreme sensitivity to my flanks. Very touchy. I did gabapentin for a while, which helped, but had side effects including weight gain.

Has anyone else experienced this type of neuropathic pain? is it something that will go away with time? Surely it's individual, but I may have to return to gabapentin.

Just curious what others have experienced with this. I was hoping to do some additional fat grafting, but afraid I'll end up with more nerve pain......

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I had fat grafting 5 separate times, twice from my belly, both flanks and my waist on two other times. Was very sore for a few weeks, weirdly numb too for about 3 to 5 months. Now am a year out from the last time and can't even feel where it happened. I was taking Alpha lipoic acid and Acetyl L Carnitine to help with nerve pain I had in my breast area after uni mx.

What you are describing is a type of neuropathy or nerve damage. The articles above are just specific to diabetic neuropathy, but can be extrapolated to mean just about any nerve damage. Worked for me so might be worth a shot for you.

Good Luck, hope you get big improvement soon.
