how about drinking?

shel wins! Yay! See, shel things aren't all bad, you can say to yourself, "I am the first person to post on pg 101 in the drinking thread!"
Jan- thanks for asking about Vegas, Sin City, the place where, "What happens in Vegas...stays in Vegas"
There were seven of us from here. We talked and talked and ate and drank some drinks and some more drinks, then gambled (some won, some lost)We all had fun. We had - me from St. Louis and 2 from Arkansas, 1 from Australia, 1 from Kansas, 1 from Ohio and 1 from Vegas. Another girl from Vegas just missed us. We all signed a poster, a couple brought gifts for all, exchanged info and made some new real life friends. Pictures soon to follow. Since everyone had drink(s) I invited all of them to join us here. I really only drank when we were together, when I was with Mark, either gambling or out for meals, I would just have a glass of wine or a beer.
Tonight, I will enjoy a couple of consecutive wines, as I do laundry and settle back into the real world, although vacation continues til Fri. Woo Hoo! -
Hi ladies- It's been a long time since I hung out in the garden. Shame on me for being invisible and not checking in. (Although NewVickie has updated me a bit on the phone.) I've added another job to the mix and the hours have me away from the computer- but not away from the grapes! Gotta go grab a glass...
-
Hey Teena...missed you girl! I was planning on calling you this weekend but got busy with the front porch and ended up too tired to think much less drink or talk!
Who wants to come to my house for Thanksgiving? Pajama party...drinks and all the fixins...since I figure your all my family I have to at least offer an invitation!
HMMM...a virtual Thanksgiving could work too.
Back later ladies.
Hugs
Vickie
Hey Shel...take one down
pass it around! -
Teena - where have you been? Glad to see you posting, but if you just went for a glass of wine, you are wasted by now, hours later. Hope it was a huge glass of something great, expensive and hard to come by...Yum!
Going for another glass for me. Laundry is almost done and I have to get to a neighborhood bar, where I am meeting a friend to give her a late bday present, something I picked up in Vegas, did I mention how much I loved shopping there? -
This thread was started March 28 '06 and has over 29,000 post! Whoa!!! We are a tight and slightly buzzed group here. You are all awesome and LIVING your lives.
-
Livin' large as none of us know when our last day will be!
Glad all my Home Girls didn't abandon me for more than just a few days! Drinking or not I'm usually around here...
Christine, I'm gald you had a great time in Vegas! Did you win anything???

Janis L -
I'm here, Janis, though not drinking. I was re-reading some of our old posts from early summer. We had some wild and crazy times here. We need to get the party started again.
Where'd you shop Christine? I love Vegas. Try to get there at least once per year, but haven't made it so far this year. I've stayed at the Luxor, Monte Carlo, Paris, Hilton, Flamingo Hilton, Stratosphere, New Orleans, a few others, and the Budget Suites. Yes, the stinky, crappy, Budget Suites. DH worked out there for a year and he'd try to save a buck. Never stayed there when we visited him again. P.U.
Greetings to Shel, Vickie, Teena, and everyone else.
94 bottles of beer on the wall..

Hi ladies, Not drinking tonight as I have to check for surgery at the ungodly hour of 5:45am tomorrow.
Hope all are doing well, I've been away so have to go back and catch up -
Cheryl??? Did I miss something? Well, whatever it is for I hope your surgery goes well! Keep us posted! You can pass the time thinking about my date with yet another young man tomorrow night! Hey, SOMEONE has to keep this place lively, right?
Cheers to all and to a successful 'procedure' for Cheryl!
Janis L -
I have a DNC to remove polyps! Yuck! But if I'm not on pain meds then I'll try drinking again tomorrow night
-
this is what I was gone for. Went to see my other grandkids. This is Duncan, my DH, Claira, MIL & Leilani
-
We are with you today Cheryl...all the way.
94 bottles of beer on the wall...wait Lini...we need the numbers to go UP!!! At this rate we'll be out of beer by the weekend!
Have a great day all
Vickie -
Janis, at one point I was down about $200, then I think I broke even. Junie taught us to play 3 card poker and I found a Wheel of Fortune Slot machine that loved me. Mark won about $2500 and paid for everything, pretty great for an ex boyfriend. We did have fun!
Cooking a late dinner (shrimp stir-fry) almost all organic, I do what I can, and of course the glass of wine to go with.
Cheryl-wishing you a quick recovery from surgery.
Lini- of course, I shopped at The Forum and Fashion Show, then-the hotel boutiques at Mirage, Paris, Venetian and Wynn, Oh My!
Hey where's Shel? with her neighbor (she would say... neighbour) boy?
Gotta watch Nip/Tuck. -
Christine - I watched Nip/Tuck last night. What the hell is going on?? I am a new viewer this year and missed a couple of episodes. What was the big "in the future" thing? I had to work late and wasn't even drunk . The show is interesting, to say the least!
Sounds like you had a blast in Vegas! I wish I could have been there. -
Christine, your Vegas trip sounds like SO much fun! And you came home w/ a $100 bill! I would love for us drinkin' buds to get together someday...
Biker - if you're new to NP, you missed the "good" seasons IMO. It's like they have 15 different writers or something this season, and none of them talk to each other. I don't know what was up with the future thing either. And what's in NY that Julia is running off to? I can appreciate abstract storylines, but I liked the show much better when it wasn't so out there. I even had 3 glasses of wine and still thought it sucked!!
Cheers!
Donna -
Christine - okay now that I have met you in person in Vegas, I'll jump onto this drinking thread. It was really great to meet everyone. Junie got me to loose $75 at the 3 card poker table but have to admit having all of us fill the table was pretty cool. You need to post a new picture with your longer, beautiful curly hair!!!
-
hey Sam91- it was great to meet you and the others. Glad to have you join the drinking thread. I guess you knew you'd find me here. lol. Funny, how I found you from behind, on your cell, before we even met.
I am going to post our group pic on the Moving Beyond forum.
Oh, you hair is different too. In real life, it looks shorter and sassier. Maybe just the top looks shorter with more layers. You look great either way.
No drinking tonight, feel like I am coming down with something, but I am still on vacation (although, I worked for a few hours to get payroll in)
Where is everyone? Watching Dancing with the Stars?
I am waiting for the season premier of Medium.
Later--- -
I'm kind of here but watching Nancy Grace...it appears that they believe Trenton is ALIVE!!! I have said so all along...she gave him to someone to keep him from his father.
Really need a drink...just to calm down.
Can't handle Nancy Grace...she's calling my daughters SIL and wants to interview her and she wants no part of it. She's given the police and FBI all the information she has and she has no use for Nancy Grace.
Hoping and praying they find him and if they don't I hope he's with someone who is loving him and keeping him safe. -
Ok...need something really cold to drink.
Volcanic hot flashes tonight for some unknown reason. I think I may be melting.
Teena...where are you?
Welcome Sam...always lots of fun here...although it looks like Janis is missing along with Shel...hope they are having some fun with their younger men...lucky girls! -
Hi Buds -
I'm starting to pack up stuff to move. But don't want to over do it, so thought I'd take a break w/ Captain Morgan & Coke Zero and check in.
I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week! WTF? It always sneaks up on me.
Janis & Shel - are you guys out with your young men or are you drinking? Or even better, are you out drinking with your young men???
Cheers,
Donna -
Vickie - aren't the volcanic hot flashes fun? Good God, no wonder we drink! I used to hate winter, but for the first time am looking forward to it.
Sam - welcome to the funnest (we sometimes make up our own words) thread on the boards!
Cheers chicas!

Donna, I'm here working, preparing for the Thanksgiving madness of working in the gourmet cheese department of Whole Foods. Oh, it's crazy!
As for the young men I met another last night. Not as cute or buff as the other but nice in his own way. We had some fun. I think we'll get together again! The other has been busy but says he wants to see me again and I will FOR SURE make time for him!
I've also been trying to gear up, pack and organize for my trip in two weeks. What to take, what not to take, etc.
Then I saw my surgeon today as my arm has been acting weird but she doesn't think it's LE and she said mets doesn't present the way I was explaining the pain/sensations so it could be nerve damage from my car accident last year but she's not sure but will get back to me about the next step (MRI of my neck?).
So, worry all around. I have some work stuff going on, too. Not in the mood to drink (tired from being out too late last night!) and kind of in a funk from the gloomy weather but decided one scotch was in order before bed tonight.
How everyone else is doing well! And, Donna, good luck with the move

WTF??? Sorry - my post didn't post so I hit ENTER again and got the above. Weird.
-
Donna isn't moving fun! At least you know all the quriks of the house already.
Feeling pretty good but have a headache so I don't think I'll drink tonight
Welcome Sam!
Christine, you actually came back with money in you pocket! wow Good for you!
The last time I went to Vegas we actually won enough to pay for our whole tirp and come back with a little extra.
Would love to go again. I lived in Vegas for about 6 months. Now my nephew is living there. -
Janis,
You are such a hot ticket. You have fun with those men of yours.
Donna how exciting moving into you house, take it easy.
Hey ladies, question are any of you taken and AI? I started armidex last night and was just wondering if any of you take it?
Randi -
Hey Randi...I have been taking Armidex for 2 and a half months now. No problems that I've noticed. I noticed your smoking post and I smoke too. I have been working REALLY hard on quitting but let me tell you its tough.
Questions...just ask away dear...may not have the answers but I'll try.
They have a champagne fountain in the Circling the Wagons thread so if I get lost...that's where I will be. -
Vickie, so no side effects from the Armidex yet, what does do you take, any weight loss or gain?
I reall need to quit.......but like you said it is hard. -
Randi - I have been taking Arimidex for 2 years. I don't even want to go into my side effects with you, because some women don't get many. Let's just say that I can still drink!! Yahoo!! You can get some weight gain and some body aches, but you'll have to wait and see how your body reacts. Why are you starting it now? Were you on Tamoxifin before?
Can't wait to get home and have my Thursday night Martini!! -
Hi Jan,
I have to start it now, cuz I had a complete hysterectomy and am er and pr +++ so that is why. God I hope I don't gain weight on it. How long before yo u noticed the se?
Randi
