I am very lucky. I have a wonderful boyfriend who since dx has taken over dealing with all the stress that may affect my life. I willing handed him this job. He deals with annoying neighbors and things of that sort. Anyhow he has had a couple bad months where he was the sole person dealing with the woman who bought our house and did and owner move in eviction, he is now dealing with horriable neighbors who accuse him of odd things such as peeping tom and making vodoo dolls and putting them around the outside of the hosue. I want to do something nice for him but he is low maintenance. He does not need or want me to cook dinner, he does not want back rubs. He is very hard to do something nice for because he wants so very little. How do you treat your significant other nice? I could really use some suggestions. He needs a big hug and a thank you and I think maybe a little more to know that he is appreicated.

Gwenn, you might want to try to hide little love notes in places he will least expect them, such as his wallet, sock drawer, car, be creative. On the notes give him thank you's, love notes and words of endearment. It doesn't cost much but I am sure he will appreciate them.

    Hugs,

Do just what you said he needs. Hug him, thank him and a little bit more. You could tell him how much you love and apppreciate him. It's low maintenance, but I bet he'd love to hear you say it.

I'm more into giving little presents and surprises. Even the littlest things are greatly appreciated even though he says it's not necessary.

I agree with the others - tell him and tell him often. We don't tell people enough how much we appreciate them.

A surprise night away?? Just tell him to meet you somewhere and have a bag packed and even if you stay at the local hotel it would be a nice surprise.
