Peeling fingertips ... I had peeling big toes. It was suggested plain old Vaseline. Lots of it and often. Is anyone having fun yet? When they call us warriors, we deserve the title.

I get that Neulasta bruised feeling 48 hours after the injection and it lasts about 48 hours. Not fun with a 50# lap dog! But, I'd rather have that SE than nausea!

Had my third AC last week and the SE's seem to have leveled off. No mouth sores, less stomach acid(that could be due to changing from Zantac to Prilosec), constipation under control. Waiting on this week's lab results.

I've been wondering if I've started having hot flashes, though in my case they're more like warm suffusions. I don't get THAT hot, it's more like I realize I briefly feel warmer than usual. No sweat or anything. That may be because I've always been a very cold person. I've frozen in every office and public building while other people are complaining about how hot they are when the AC is set at 78

my fingertips haven't necessarily been peeling, but I have noticed that they feel quite dry in achy. Been using piles of moisturizer and it seems to help

I have hot flashes every night, at some point I wake up absolutely dripping in sweat. Once I take off my hat and shake off my duvet to give myself some air,I usually cool off enough to go back to sleep

I'm definitely feeling the muscular aches, but they're not unbearable just annoying. Just taking extra strength Tylenol for now. The steroid withdrawal is bothering more and more, I feel like I am walking and talking through cement all the time. Blech.

Hi Paxton, I've always been like you, the one who's freezing cold in every office. My husband is amazed to see me throw off the covers at night, since I usually pile on an extra layer. My hot flashes are more like very warm suffusions too, suddenly feels like I've stepped out into a hot humid August day. Skin gets clammy but I'm not dripping in sweat. Helps to take hat & layers off if I'm not out in public.

Had my 1st Taxol infusion today like most of ya, it was none eventful 😊. MO advice any bone/muscle will kick in by Saturday so it pans out with what most of you are experiencing.

On the Weekly Taxol Group someone mentioned that wearing gloves helps tremendously with the pain on the fingertips/hands so it may be worth a try.

Let's keep fighting look how far we have come seems like just yesterday we were joining this group getting ports and 1st treatments AC etc

    Hugo! Allie 💞

I've been given compazine suppositories since I can't keep anything down, including pills. Anyone have experience with this med?

MissBee123 Hahahaha yes! :) Between the benadryl via IV and steroids I am definitely the most hilarious person on the chemo floor on Thursdays. They usually ween you off it, but my rashes were tough in the beginning, so they kept me on it. I think secretly they like to hear me babble on. Then they bring me ice an I have to shut up. :)

    Hi ladies,

Hot flash.. check! its worse during the first week right after chemo. I wake up in sweats, its like I am thrown into a sauna, my scalp is all hot too. Someone said that its worse because of the chemo drugs, I think is true because once I pass the first week the nightly episodes are gone. Rarely late in the afternoons I feel my cheeks and whole body suddenly get much warmer and then it slowly subsides. I'm on Zoladex, which shut down my ovaries right before my first chemo infusion so I'm guessing this is my sorry slow journey into menopause (temporary I hope).

Neulasta pain.. check! I'm given Neupogen (filgrastim) which works same as Neulasta, three shots, day 3-5. The aches start within the 24 hours after the first shot and lasts until day 6 and then it goes away. I try to do some Yoga stretches which helps with the muscle aches.

Nails.. Mine has started to change colour especially the thumb nails, I use a lot of Vaseline on my fingernails for moisture and I think it helps to keep the nails strong. Mine hasn't broken yet. I have been keeping my nails short during the treatment.

We made it through the week! Happy Friday

The Taxol SE's this week were annoying because they were new to me. I think now that I have an expectation of what to experience it will be more manageable. But man that bone pain was no JOKE. I felt twice my age. I usually dont like pain meds but taking one of my Percocet RX before bed helped me that night and the next day.

I wish everyone a wonderful weekend! Please go out an enjoy the weather if possible!

I am on day four after my first dose of taxetore, I stopped my steroids two days ago and withdrawl is exhausting me. I slept for 10 hours last night and I'm still tired. I am having the bone pain it's not excruciating but it's definitely annoying across my back and hips shoulders and pelvic area. I'm taking Claritin and using extra strength Tylenol, I have prescription painkillers (Hydromorephone)but I'm trying to avoid them because I don't want to get constipated. So far I don't think I need them.

So far bone pain has gotten a tiny bit better, but is no joke. Took pain pill to sleep. Today walking like an old lady. Food is starting to taste like food. No tingling, or nail issues. I use the OPI nail system, and lots of vaseline as someone else mentioned.

you never know how your body will react or what SE's you'll get.

I'm one day out from Taxol and so far, aside from going to bed early, I feel normal. Never know how it will be after this but I'll definitely keep an eye out for the bone pain you are all experiencing!

Just wanted to leave this here for a little smile:

    Happy Friday everyone-

It's been a sad and busy week for me. My friends boyfriend died from a brain aneurysm at the age of 34, he left behind two small children. I also attended my friends son's 17th Celebration of Life at The City of Hope this past Wednesday. My friends son died from osteosarcoma and The City of Hope had a great service in remembrance for all of the children that have passed away due to cancer.  Just a reminder that life is too short and I need to enjoy every moment of it.

I hope that all of you have a wonderful weekend. For those of you on Taxol, it gets better. Drink plenty of water (2-3 liters), eat, and rest. All of us will encounter different SE's. I rest for a couple of days and then I am on the go. I am currently not working but I am out and about doing things and keeping busy, meet up with my friends and sisters for lunch. I do not exercise but I should, maybe I will start this week since daylight savings starts Sunday.

    Sending you all hugs!

    Monica

taxotore is the devil. I am on day five and still so exhausted I can barely pick my head up, my entire body is buzzing and every bone in my body aches. Isn't excruciating pain, but it doesn't go away and it radiates. For example because my hip bones are aching, my stomach hurts too. My pelvic bones ache, and it hurts my vagina. Ugh ugh ugh. I have narcotic painkillers, but I'm scared to take them because I already feel so Dizzy and disoriented and that is bothering me more than the pain.
