Scottie, I can see it now-fitbitaholics anonymous. As addictions go, not a bad one.
70 degrees today so got out at lunch for a 45 minute walk. I'm hopeful that spring may stay.
Everyone get well. I'm seeing a lot of people at work sick so I'm not surprised to see it here too.
-
Ruth- I think I may have gotten the same thing you have. It has been coughing like there is no tomorrow. Today was the first day I have felt good in over a week.
Scottie-Sorry you Blaze didn't work out. I have really enjoyed my Fitbiy, but some of my co-workers have been trying to sway me to get the Apple Watch. Right now I am not sure I want to put out that much $.
Twohobbies-70 degrees is so nice for a walk outside.
Wonderland- sinus infections are dreadful, as I had one last spring. I thought there was something wrong with my jaw, but it turned out to be a sinus infection.
I walked 14k steps at the trail and it felt good to be outside.
-
Oh my - so many of you feeling under the weather. Hang in there - spring is coming!
It's supposed to be around 80 degrees here today. The Park Service originally estimated peak cherry blossom time to start March 31, but due to the unusually warm temps, yesterday they changed it to March 18 - one of the earliest ever!
Still babying my peroneal tendon hoping to run the 8K on Saturday. It's a St. Patrick's Day Run Fest, so in honor or the day I bought some bright green kinesio tape to use on race day to give the tendon some extra support.
Quarter mile lap swim after work yesterday. Staying off the foot as much as possible other than that.
-
I couldn't stand it anymore & went over to the YMCA & walked on the track for about 45 minutes (slowly with a couple water breaks) and then came home & did 45 minutes of very light toning. Don't feel any better, don't feel any worse either. I don't dare go to Zumba but could maybe last through a gentle flow yoga class.
-
Ruth & Annie hope you both feel better soon. Lots of stuff going around.
Twohobbies. . .lol I may have to start the local club here.
Today was so nice, my coworker and I got out for a 20 min urban hike. I'm now at the gym. So far so good with my new Fitbit Surge. Still have a few things to learn about tracking various exercises, but it seems to be working perfectly. Can't wait to hike with it Saturday.
Feeding the Fitbit.

Finally made my steps today.....now if I could just NOT eat!!! My weight is up at least 5# since summer and I'm eating nuts as I write this!!!
-
it won't seem like much to you all, but I did walk over 6,500 steps today..
-
I was going to walk on the track again today; but after 5 minutes, I was so bored that I sneaked over & did my Cardio Sculpt class. I totally modified, used the lowest weights etc. but gosh, it felt good to do something fun again! It is so nice out here that I may possibly take a short outside walk too.
* edited to note that instead of a walk, I took a nap!
-
Ruth: Sounds like you're starting to feel a little better. Hope so!
Lisa: I'm impressed with your steps today!
Karen: I'm in the same boat with those 5 extra pounds. They really make a difference (mine are around my middle) and I want them to go away.
Scottiemom: Glad you like your new Fitbit.
Nats: Sorry about your tendon but I like your idea with the green kinesio tape.
Walked/ran this evening.
-
6,000 steps again
-
Quarter mile lap swim. Wish me luck in the 5 mile St Pat's Running Fest race tomorrow - 5 miles. I've been babying the ankle tendon for two weeks now, so hopefully it will hold up. If I have to stop and have the first aid van drive me back, so be it, but I'm going to try.
-
-
I would wish you luck with the old saying "break a leg", but I don't think it would be an appropriate send off! Hope it goes well.
Went to yoga this afternoon & really do plan on taking a walk this afternoon because it is supposed to be in the 60s (pretty unheard of around here in April). I am feeling better. I just took my last antibiotic yesterday, so here's hoping!
-
Good luck, Mary! I just feel fortunate I still have a good knee.
Glad you're feeling better, Ruth!
Rest day today.
-
Good luck Mary! Ruth, remember that when you have pneumonia, you have limited oxygen. Heal first.
Having a bad day and really need stress relief but I tried to walk and only got about 15 minutes due to a blister that hasn't healed. So I came home and rode my bike for 15 minutes just to get a little extra exercise till the added wind chill got to me. I may just need to go straight to the margarita.
-
Lisa. . .way to go. Nats good luck and hope to see a pix. Ruth lol. . .little by little.
This has been a much better work week. More regular hours finally and another urban hike yesterday. Tomorrow DH and I hike while today I did the elliptical and now the treadmill with weights.
At the gym feeding the Fitbit Surge

Don't overdue, Ruth!
Lisa, I say, "Every step counts!"
I must admit that since returning from St. Maarten, I have been quite lazy.
MUST get going!!!!
-
hi all, back from business trip. I like to travel but it's always good to come home.
Going to be a pretty day which is a blessing as I'm helping my friend move into the house we sold her.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! I'm a little behind here but still wishing you good luck, Mary!! ♥

Did about a 25 minute workout this morning
-
31 minute walk and my first garden and sculpt session of 2016 - about an hour of raking out beds.
-
TH I should have done some yard work myself but after Move & Sculpt I headed to Penney's and dropped a bundle on linens & pillows for new king-sized bed that comes Monday. Great sales but still not cheap!
-
7500meters on the rower today. Hopefully we will be back on the water in the very near future!
-
Rhody, spring is coming early and my lake was completely ice free last weekend! It's coming!
Badger that's exciting though to have a new bed and fresh linens. I need to be doing that too - bad mattress is bothering my back a lot.
-
TH, when's the last time you turned your mattress? I had a really comfy K bed at the hotel. Could have slept on it diagonally! My DH tends to be a bed hog & a blanket thief so this is going to be wonderful.
-
Badger very nicely sent me a Zumba workout program that she decided wasn't her 'thing'; I tried out the 10 minute Zumba Abs & the 20 minute Zumba Express (not overdoing anything because I didn't watch the explanation DVD, so I didn't know what I was doing
). I am going to like the program a lot; so thanks again, Badger! I also took a slowish walk later in the day because it is so nice out, and is suppose to turn back to more 'normal' (cooler) weather starting tomorrow.
-
Just got back from the gym and did an hour on the elliptical while listening to inspirational music. Tough week. It was very helpful to do something productive.
-
Glad to hear it Ruth, and you are very welcome. Use it in good health!
-
I am enjoying the tea and honey too!!
-
-
Did hubby's laundry today, so that was two flights of stairs to go up and down. More exercise!
