Gall Bladder Surgery - after TRAM flap reconstruction.

I had a tram flap reconstruction for my left breast about 2 years ago. Now I have been told that I need my gall bladder removed. I have been diagnosed with gall stones in the common bile duct. I was wondering if anybody else had this happen to them. If so, were you able to have laproscopic surgery or did you need to have open surgery? If this isn't the correct place to post this question, could somebody point me in the right direction?

It is not at all unusual to develope 'Gall Bladder Sludge" (yes that is a legitimate medical term) after chemo because of the massive amount of cells that are killed off in a very short time. Sometimes it resolves and sometimes it goes on to cause problems. According to CT with Contrast Scans, I did developed GB Sludge while on adjuvant Taxol. The Sludge did turn into 'stones' but I have never had any issues. Have been told IF there is ever a problem, would be noninvasive surgery to deal with it.

Hope that gives you a little info.

Hi goofytoo, I haven't had my BMX yet and therefore no reconstruction (TRAM). I had to have the surgery during chemo :(
