More confused....what could this be, older people have it, it's used inside and normally bigger than a bread box, no batteries/electricity to use it.

I was thinking more on the lines of VICK vapor rub but do older couples have a vat of that? This is probably something that makes total sense but my brain can't come up with it at the moment.
