my parents collected antiques, so I have quite a few old things. Two that have family connections are an old trunk that came to America with some of my immigrant ancestors in the late 1800s, and a very cool small rocking chair that can fold up. It came across the praires in a covered wagon with some other ancestors (I'd go look up the year but I have 2 cats sitting on my lap).
The piece of furniture, picture, art work, glassware (whichever) in my house that has the most sentimental value to me is.....

like you Ruth, I have quite a few old things. Maybe not from the 1800s but we have a painting done in 1919 by my great-grandmother (dad's dad's mom). I should get it cleaned for its 100th b-day. We also have a candy dish that was my grandmother's (mom's mom). It sat on her coffee table filled with those pepto-pink wintergreen mints.
