I promised my 8 year old I would run her Girls on the Run 5K with her on 4/30 and scheduled my exchange surgery for 5/3. The race date was just changed to 5/21. Would I still be able to run then? I am not a runner. I used to run maybe 3 miles a day before I had triplets 8 years ago. Since then I walk for exercise but had started the Couch to 5K program so I could run this with her.

Have a call into my PS but may reschedule surgery- although I hate having TEs in any longer than necessary.

r u running it or walking? I got told at least 3 weeks no running but when ibhad my BMX I walked a 5k 2 weeks later....so I guess it depends on the PS and your expectations of the race

Definitely talk to your PS - I was always on a minimum 6-week "no jiggling" restriction after my surgeries. Walking was OK, but definitely not running. You don't want to do too much too soon - pushing it can lead to healing issues, could trigger lymphedema, and generally costs you more down time in the end.
