Worried about bone mets, but hate bothering doc. Anyone else?

Options

About two weeks ago, I started noticing discomfort in left scapular area while doing yoga/stretching. The discomfort has continued and when I touch my left scapula it is tender and I almost feel like a "lump". Of course, bone mets are on my mind, but I hate being a pain and contacting my doc, because what if it's nothing.

Has anyone had bone mets to scapula? Does anyone else hate contacting there doc...ugh?

If it's nothing, you can go back to life without worrying...and you can find out what it is and address it!!!!! That would be wonderful! Your doc gets paid big bucks and can't address it if you don't tell him/her. Make the call. I do understand. I hate being a pest and ponder sometimes for days before calling which I look back on and wonder why. Call. Keep us posted.

I second everything Karen's said above. They are there to take care of your health - which they can't do unless they know there's a concern! So yes, pick up the phone!

Good luck getting it sorted out.

My Dr's all say if the pain is there for more than 2 weeks, they want to know.

Go to your doc and don't worry about "bothering" him or her. This is what they do.

I agree with the others, and add in the doctor works for you - remember he / she is no where without patients to care for.. Better to raise the concern than not. I hope its nothing ; and based on your stats, I am going to bet that it is more like arthritis or other inflammation. Good luck and keep us posted.

mar, please advocate for yourself. It's something I learned to do. Call first thing in the morning and get the call out of the way, set up an appointment. Then reward yourself in some way for taking this step to take good care of yourself. Calling the doctor isn't something I particularly like, but I always feel relief when I do. Hopefully, your discomfort is caused by something minor and if it is, tell yourself, glad I got that checked out, glad I take action to care for myself. Best wishes to you.
