If so what is the dosage? I was on 60 mg of Cymbalta and my psychiatrist switched me to Effexor XR. I was at 112.5 mg and a week later she bumped me up to 150 mg. After a couple of days I felt horribly fatigued and my bp went up. Now I'm back down to 112.5 mg and feeling better. Has anyone else experienced this

I take 75 and that is as much as I want to take, the bump from 37.5 to 75 was hard and the stuff works but it makes me tired.

I think it was too much for me. I also take it for anxiety and depression.

I took it for 3 years 37.5 mg, which is the standard rx for hot flashes only. I got off it last summer as I think the combo of it and my AI was making me gain weight or at least impossible to lose. I use 5 HTP and theanine which helps both mood and hot flashes. I hate the w/d of any SSRI. The withdrawal symptoms are awful and make it impossible for me to function for at least 3 weeks or more, another reason why I got off this strong drug.

If you are using it for depression too, that's a different rx and treatment protocol.

I was prescribed Effexor (37.5) to reduce the hot flashes and while it worked a little, it was not a good trade off for the other SE (sexual dysfunction). I just deal with the hot flashes now

I took 37.5 and it worked great for hot flashes but it made me too tired and uninterested in sex coupled with recovering from mastectomy and newly married. I works well, but being tired is not worth it anymore.
