Will Insurance pay for revision to botched donor site?

I had fat grafting to correct rippling in my reconstructed breasts about three years ago, and the doctor left me with a lumpy belly and a divot in my backside from the cannula. I've tried to ignore it for long time because the main thing is I'm healthy, BUT it bugs the crud out of me. The dr. who did this said a mini-tummy tuck to cut out the area of irregular contouring would be the way to correct this and he was supposed to look into the insurance aspect...but I never heard from him again and quite frankly, don't want him to touch me again anyway. I've considered seeing another surgeon about this issue. Would this be a complication from breast reconstruction surgery and be covered? Any experience or knowledge out there? Thanks!

    I asked about this before I had fat grafting (also to fix rippling). Specifically, I asked, "If I am left with divots or lumps or weird hanging skin in the donor area, will my insurance cover fixing that?" My PS said, "yes." I'm sure the surgeon has to code it properly, and it may depend upon your insurance. I would definitely consult with another PS!

    Thank you - I had no idea that would even happen. Poured over these boards to make the right reconstruction decision, never thinking there could be a problem at the donor site! I have an appt with a new dr. soon. If insurance does pay for it, I'm stuck with a choice between a lumpy belly or a hip to hip scar. Would have lived with ripples in my implants had I known that!
