hi I have passed my 5 year mark after chemo. I had mastectomy on the left side and I opt for implants on both. I initially had the surgeries done at city of hope which the doctor there did a great job. Now after 5 years, the breasts are no longer symmetrical. I went to UCSF for breast lift to the side where I havent done mastectomy and they did a horrible job. It should've been a simple lift and now the shape looks weird.

Is it too late for me to go back to city of hope? Would doctor tell me it is too late? I know health is the most important thing and I should be happy I am cancer free five years now. But I get so upset when I look the my new breasts. Any suggestions help!

Thanks

I'm so sorry to hear that. I've been reallyhappy at UCSF but I'm sure every surgery and surgeon is unique.

Hoping you get fixed up right!

You'd have to ask an expert in clinical law, but my understanding is that insurance companies are required to pay for reconstructions indefinitely if you had reconstruction after the law was passed requiring reconstruction after Cancer in 1999.

Since the Breast lift was botched from the start, you have a very strong case. I certainly wouldn't return to the same team who botched the surgery to have it fixed; I'd get multiple consults from different Plastic clinics on how they would correct it. You have many good surgeons in your area.

do you have any recommendations? I automatically reached out to city of hope as I was very happy with the outcome.
