Are the Birth Control Pills Shows any Side-Effect?

I started taking birth control pills from last month. I just want to know about the nature of birth control pills, are they really work on time? or create any side-effect. Are they safe to consume without any doctor's prescription? I have lots of queries regarding birth control pills. I need to prevent my pregnancy early so please suggest me, are they safe to consume & which pill is best to avoid unexpected pregnancy.

    I think those questions are best discussed with your doctor, taking into account your family and personal history.

    I agree with Melissa and would also like to point out that this is a breast cancer discussion board, not birth control. This particular forum is for information on alternative treatments for breast cancer. On another note, bc pills need to be prescribed by a doctor, so a doctor really is the best person to answer your questions. Best to avoid prescription meds that were not prescribed for you.     Yes, there are side effects of birth control pills, although the majority are not serious. But there are many different types of contraception ranging from emergency, hormonal and barrier methods to long-acting or permanent contraception.     I.m in this fix because I took birth control pills for 10 years. I got the cyst(s) right after I took the 2nd batsh. (the first batch was from my family dr for excessive and painful periods. I took only 1 month, too much hassle) 47 years after the 10 year 2nd batch the biggest cyst went bad. I thin a lot about a class action suit
