Hi ladies- I hope you are all doing well. I have been super busy with work and find my exercise has been falling off, but it is very mild here right now with temps in the low 70s so I made sure I got out to walk before dark. I told myself on the walk "you will walk more this weekend too". Especially while winter has stepped away. It is very spring like but it won't last. Nice 25 min walk today.

I am re-evaluating whether I may change gyms. I joined this gym five years ago and it used to have great yoga classes, and I like the pool and I use the weights a lot too. But through time, the yoga classes have left and I find the weight machines are dominated by young kids who just park on them for long periods of time and/or sit and read their phones. I realized I am not going as much because I don't like it there anymore.

That being said, I am going to check out a gym here that just has machines and maybe try that for awhile. I can do my outdoor exercise in the summer. I found a gym that is better for busy people like me who need to go in, work out and get on to their day. I may leave this gym to the 20 year olds who need to use the place for their social lives.

Also, I just finished my current 6 month follow up with my BS this week and both she and the MO (two weeks ago) said I am doing great. Three and a half years out now and grateful.

Will do my best to keep up better with both exercise and this thread! You all inspire me!

hi all and good to see ya Jazzy!

Was over at the new house this morning and it looks great! First time I've seen it in daylight hours since the flooring was done. Few more things need to be done but it's ready for furniture. I'm pretty sick of packing and it's too cold to move boxes today so will spend a few hours this afternoon shopping for window treatments. Next weekend is supposed to be in the 40's so will take that opportunity to move my few house plants that are huddled around the one window here that gets good sun. They'll have all kinds of room at the new place - lots of windows and places for indoor plants. It will be fun to see what comes up in the yard this spring.

Badger so excited for you, I know you'll love having more space. Jazzy I know what you mean about the kids sitting on the benches between sets and using social media but the management is also culpable as they see it and they should stop it.

Did Spin this morning and this afternoon I'm going for a massage ahhhhhh.

Cheryl: I had a facial yesterday and it was ahhhhhh.

Jazzy: Good to see you again!

Badger: I know you can't wait to move!

I just returned from my walk/run.

Jazzy, can you ask the management to make an announcement or post large signs to let these inconsiderate folks know they are being rude. I found the same thing going on back at my gym in NJ but the gym was so large that it did not really impact workouts but was annoying to watch.

badger, I'm excited for you. My new house is smaller than the rental so will be interesting how we set up our stuff.

Had a nice afternoon today with new friends from the Orlando thread:

Left-to-right from the Orlando FL thread: Phyllis (patoo), Lynn (mysunshine48), Denise (HomeMom), Eva (Jesika63) and her daughter, Jennette (jbokland) and Aurora (auroaya) meetup in Mount Dora FL. After lunch we walked over to Jennette's home for coffee and cake and more talking/sharing. Fun time.

Karen-I agree that is a disappointing response from fitbit. They may have tightened up their policy. Congrats on your daughter's acceptance; good for her. It always stresses me out waiting to hear about financial aid. I wish they could send it sooner.

Patoo- looks like you had a great lunch.

It is so cold here. Windchills are -15 and may go down to -30 tomorrow. I did manage to get my body out to the gym. I don't think I can wait for milder temps to show up. We have a YMCA opening in 2 weeks and I cannot wait to swim! We have no pools near me now.

Badger, enjoy your move, and hope it is not too stressful!!!

Jazzy, I know what you mean!! Hope you find a gym that is just right for you!!! When we moved into a 55 and over community, we finally found the gym that suited us,

Last night was so incredibly inspiring. We had nearly 130 attendees for our Night to Shine Prom and I got some great pictures. Difficult lighting so some did not turn out. I really hope we repeat this event next year.

At the gym feeding my Fitbit (pumping arms = more steps) and then home to edit the photos.

Patoo, it looks like a fun time. Hello, auroaya!

I have also been extremely busy at work and it's been hard to get any walking in during the week. Yesterday I bundled up and walked in the 12 degree weather. It was actually fun. Two other souls were out at the lake. Sunny, bright blue sky and white with snow. I lasted 30 minutes before I got tired of rearranging the scarf around my face. I need an old fashioned ski mask.

    Great picture, patoo. What fun!!!

Yesterday, I went to a wrestling tournament all day (it was regionals and held in my town). The former student whom I especially follow placed first so will go to the state tournament with the #1 seed from our regional. Whoo hoo! But a LONG day of BLEACHER BUTT! As it was freezing cold, windy, and starting to snow like crazy, DH & I then went out for our Valentine's Day dinner & did a quick stop at the grocery store (in case we couldn't get out today), and by then I was so cold, tired & sore throated, that I went to bed with Mr. Vicks Vapor Rub at 9:30!

I will do something today, and it will probably involve shoveling

Ruth, the snow you're shoveling today is the snow I'll shovel tomorrow. I've been tracking this storm across the country. Yes I am a weather geek. It's cool to watch weather patterns move across the country and think of the people along the way - Cheryl in CA, you in ND, me in WI, then on to points east and all our buddies there. We may get six inches overnight but should stop by the morning. Hope it's not too messy for the men with trucks who are coming tomorrow to move furniture. Will take another carload of boxes over this morning and put up the mini-blinds in the LR. Ugly but functional and the hardware is already up so shouldn't take too long. Then home to a shower and the last blast of packing up the small stuff so the guys can just swoop in and carry away the big stuff. Computer gets packed tonight so may be off-line for a few days. ♥ to all

Hi ladies- thank you for the feedback and ideas on the gym issues. I have mentioned to them that there are too many people hogging equipment, parking and reading their phones, etc. I never notice any of the workers walking around the weight floor, they all are hanging around the desk. The trainers are on the floor, but not at night when I now go because of my new work. I have a couple good recommendations from friends on places that are more middle-age friendly and going to check them out and then move to make the change by end of March. Appreciate you!

Took a short walk yesterday for 20 minutes at the end of the day, on top of a lot of yard work in the morning. More to follow today. Wishing you all a good Valentines Day!

Patoo how wonderful to get together with the Orlando ladies you all look fabulous, and hello Auroya. I hate to tell you this Badger and Ruth but I'm wearing flip flops and using the air con in my car but I sure wish we had some chilly days I'd even like some rain, I have a wardrobe full of unused winter clothes. Will be thinking of you tomorrow Badger and hope the snow stays away till everything is moved. Scottie glad your event was a success

Well this morning my biggest fear came true, I went to Body Step class and I fell off the step I lurched forward and went down hard on my left knee but I picked myself up and carried on, I have a big bloody scrape right in the center of my knee ughhh.

Shovel and sculpt today. Fortunately the snow was light and powdery this time.

Cheryl, I hope your knee feels better soon. I never thought about falling off one of those steps.

Jazzy, don't get me started on gym workers who hang around the desk and never walk around. The young'uns who run the Y in the evening drive me crazy. We could barely bestir them to help us when the lights went out in the women's locker room, and nobody could see to unlock their lockers so we could go home. I definitely couldn't get any help when some teenager was riding his hoverboard around the walking track. They just don't care.

bhcheryl, I was also in flip-flops today - first time in a few weeks altho the mornings are still in low-40's which is cold for here.

badger, exciting that you are almost done.

After church did some shop (or scope) and sculpt as will be needing a patio set for the lanai and a table for behind the couch (actually need a new couch but that will wait for now). Also have to get washer and dryer and order our window treatments. Fun, fun, fun (until the bills come in!) Got home and went out for a 5-mile bike ride.

MO appt tomorrow but not worried.

    Night sculpted friends.

Hi friends- heading to evening meditation and 1 hour yoga class. I hope everyone has had a good day!

Cubbie- I have not been to the gym in two weeks now. I have been exercising with walking and yoga, but told myself today I am going to try to go back tomorrow night to do weights and ab work to get back into it. We have some older workers at the gym, the managers, who seem to be focused on helping their staff than checking areas to see if things are okay. I don't get it.

Did the dreadmill & 30 minutes of toning with Denise Austin, also took a nap (which I never do) and am sitting around drinking water & eating soup as I think a cold is catching me. Blah!

Good luck with your move, badger!!

Today I had another cold 35 minute walk. It was fun to walk in big fluffy snowflakes but I'm still looking forward to the warm up this week. It's not the winter I hate, just the length of winter.

    Pretty!

Went to Yoga & Zumba.....still feel BLAH from the cold so did a half-a** job in both. 'Stuff' is apparently going around. DS said he had a touch of the flu over the weekend (he never gets sick) and  I just talked to a friend who ended up with a bad cold on a trip to Hawaii. How depressing would that be!!!

My daughter, her bf who lives in NY and is here for the week and me spent the week-end in the mountains. Saturday, i went for a great 2 hour hike. yesterday the girls skied at Copper Mountain. I went for a couple walks though nothing special and just hung out. Today we got up early and went on the same hike but shorter that I did on Saturday. it was snowing and no sun but we had a good time. My DD's bff is from NY and she loved the Colorado weather that she described as bi-polar. Friday and Saturday it was sunny and warm in the 40's in the mountains. Sunday an today snow. Denver was windy but near 60. It will be in the 60'sand warmer for the next several days.

Loved the 3 day week-end. Now its time to get ready for work. I have been putting off writing a report that is due for a staffing at 8:00 am tomorrow. I guess I best get busy!!!

Trapped inside by weather most of the weekend, so did mostly indoor Chores N Sculpt, plus we did some Tax N Sculpt. Very glad to be married to an accountant this time of year - he's a whiz at filling out our tax forms. With moving last year we donated a lot of items to Salvation Army and our local animal rescue thrift shop, so we spent the day googling items on eBay to get valuations.

Last year our identity was stolen and someone filed a fraudulent tax return using our info, so we had to untangle all of that, including getting a special PIN from the IRS to file this year. It does not make me comfy knowing that someone like the Russian mafia has our names, SSN, DOB, where we work, etc.

Very little Shovel N Sculpt for us - one advantage of living in a 55+ community is that they shovel everything for us, even our front porch and our driveway. What a luxury!

Had a great Valentine's Day - our tradition is to always grill a steak no matter what the weather, so we did that as the snow came down.

Scottie - cute tradition and beautiful flowers! Ruth, Cheryl, and Kindergarten - hope you can shake the coughs and colds.

Work didn't open till 11 today because of ice, so I took the opportunity to get to the fitness center for a half hour run.
