Small zit? Around incision
Double Mastectomy one week ago with expanders. Two days ago some very tiny zit type Bumps popped up. They arE not stiches. They are random and some are abit bigger than the others. Around 7on one side and 15 on the other. They look like miniscule puss pockets. Smaller than the round colored pin head on pins.
PS said he didn't know exactly what they were but refilled my antibiotic and wanted me to do another round. They are mostly on my very bruised dark purple skin. None are exactly on my incision.
I'm sure if I tried to pop one it would have whiteish or yellowish fluid.
Anyone else experience these? What are they?

Dear Cherryann0916,
We are sorry that you are dealing with additional issues after your surgery but glad that you reached out here. We cannot necessarily answer your question but hopefully others will weigh in with their experiences. Here is some information on Mastectomy on our site that may not truly answer your questions but may hold some additional information. Keep posting and stay connected here. The Mods

Cherryann, I have no idea, but I would consult a dermatologist if the surgeon didn't know what it was.
-
Cherryann, are the tiny blisters where any adhesive tape was applied? I'm very allergic to many types of tape, and if it gets left on my skin for any length of time I get tiny, intensely itchy blisters.

Hi:
I am wondering if the plastic surgeon suspects they might be a possible sign of local infection, because he renewed the antibiotic prescription. He may not "know," but perhaps he "suspects". The only way to know for certain what he thinks, is to call him back and ask.
Meanwhile, please be sure to fill the antibiotic prescription immediately (so you do not have any gaps in treatment).
Please keep an eye out for any worsening of the condition or fever, and call back immediately to report it.
Meanwhile, please do not pop the blisters. If the blisters do open by themselves, please contact the office of the plastic surgeon to request specific instructions regarding care for any opened blister.
I would check in with the breast surgeon also about what may be going on.

[P.S., I got blisters from steri-strips used for biopsies, but they were clustered around contact points and itched like crazy]

Ah. I came back to say if not an infection, what about an allergy to tape or other product, and I see sbelizabeth and BarredOwl are on it.
-
no tape used. Or steri strip.
Sent photos to surgeon one, they didnt know what it was either but suggested I have the PS swab one and send it to the lab. They couldnt because I am now under the PS care.
Called the PS and firmly requested that I come back in and have her swab one. I won't have results until Monday but yes I think the PS was wondering if it is an infection. Really hoping it's not mrsa.

I had one, it popped, went away, never came back. Hoping yours does the same
