"two lymph nodes were incidentally removed"

That's what it says on my surgery report -- what does it mean? The cancer had not spread to the lymph nodes. There are no scars in my armpit.

    They might have been intramammary nodes (nodes in the breast).

    All lymph nodes are not in the 'armpit'. There at lymph nodes throughout the ENTIRE body.

    They may have been non-sentinel nodes hanging off the end of the same “chain” or “vine” as the sentinels. No way to leave them in and just take the sentinels. That’s how 2 non-sentinel nodes got removed during my SNB.

    The same thing happened to me. There were two nodes that just happened to be attached to the breast tissue that was removed. BS wasn't trying for nodes, they just came along for the ride.

    question about lymph nodes.

    I was told they have to look at ones on right breast but they may wait. I have an appointment to discuss. I have pain between my should blades on that side and the radiologist tech said to be sure and mention that. I have just recovered from uterine cancer so am sort of numb now. Is anyone able to explain the connection between lymph nodes in breast that are swollen and shoulder type pain. (My other breast has suspicious growths they are fairly certain is cancer, which they are testing. I had cancer on same side 10 years ago).
