Let's Post our Daily Exercise

Speaking of food, I accomplished my first post-surgery cooking tonight. Marinated and roasted sweet peppers. Plus, I put pillowcases on pillows. Can't wait to tell my OT Monday

Bad, here is a steroid story for you: Two of my friends were doing chemo at the same time. Their cancer center was 100 miles away, so they coordinated their schedule so they could go together. Once, Lady #1's husband drove them, and after their appointments, the ladies decided to do some shopping. This was many years ago, but the DH is still shaking his head and says, "You've never shopped until you've shopped with two women on steroids!"
Decision, glad you are home. Yes, you DO need to move every day; but doing so will allow you to eat an occasional bon bon (or two)!
-
Ruth fabulous idea on the kick-boxing class. My husband has a boxing bag ( I don't think that's what you call it). I've always been afraid I'll break my hands, but I could sure kick the crap out of it some days!
Mary, I forgot to say I enjoyed your beautiful sailing picture. I always wanted to go on a ship like that. Glad you enjoyed your trip.
BAUN - you're doing great! I love that you're not letting this keep you down. Enjoy every pillowcase victory!
And Scottie - exercise over sitting and popcorn is also a victory. We are athletes!
DF, recuperate first, then start back slow. We'll be here when you are ready.
We always watch the superbowl but I can't work up much interest. I suppose it will be an interesting showdown between up-and-coming young QB and experienced, probably retiring QB. I just hope its not a blow-out on Carolina's part.
Debating on whether to walk today after so much walking yesterday... but for sure will do some weights. Since I just declared I am an athlete, I should do both! Hahahahaha.
-
Good morning my Sculpted Sisters! Got a lot done yesterday but glad we stopped when we did. I'm a little stiff & sore this morning. Wish I hasn't packed my yoga DVDs but will do some floor work on my own. Will be so nice to live in a place where I don't have to move furniture to do yoga stretch.
Was wondering when I'd turned into such a creaky old fart then realized it's probably the anastrozole.
Going to take it pretty easy today. Will get in some steps shopping for window coverings. Thinking Roman shades for the LR. Also need to wander the home improvement store for a few more items.
BAU, LOL @ Dexter your steroid belly. Thanks everyone for the continued support & inspiration! ♥

hi, wanted to share this great NIH article & video about metastatic BC.
-
Badger: What a fantastic video!
Just stopping by to shout GO PANTHERS!!!
Walked/ran this afternoon because I'm going to a Superbowl party and I definitely needed to exercise before I go!
-
Interesting, Badger. I hope my macrophages stay away from those cancer cells!
The sun came out and beckoned me out for a walk. Had it stayed gray I probably would not have gone. 49 minute walk around the lake. Now off to make low carb superbowl food.
-
A hard FIRM DVD. Now watching the Super Bowl.
-
Wonderland....I'm for the Broncos!!! So far good start to the game!!!
Damp and cold today....I'm sure I'm short on my steps, but without my fitbit don't have a count but I've only walked a 3 miles max so far!!! I emailed Fitbit to say it is lost, fell off my wrist to see if they do anything. The flex is on sale at Target this week. Hope they are also on sale at Bed Bath and Beyond cuz that's how I bought mine the first time, using a %20 coupon and paid $60 something!!! Someone told me though that Fitbit may offer me a deep discount on a new one....But I think I have to get one this week!!!
-
No exercise tonight unless you count armchair quarterbacking of the Super Bowl commercials on twitter.
Will be back in the gym tomorrow.
Scottie
-
badger, thank you for the link. I worked as a health writer and I found the double agent role of macrophages to be fascinating. I am going to follow up on the information in the article!
-
Karen I lost my original Fitbit and I did find it on the roadway crushed, I got myself an HR to replace it but I think I'm going to get a One and use them both, the HR is rubbing on my wrist and my wrist is getting itchy so I think I'm going to just use it when I'm in the gym. I was invited to a Super Bowl party it's a fund raiser for a young man who died in a terrible accident and his family is raising money for a college endowment, I sent my donation but I'm not interested in football so I'm powering through my DVR and catching up on episodes of Doc Martin and Father Brown. TH you should hit that bag, it is really empowering. LB I hope Imogen doesn't do damage but from the looks of it you're in the 'getting hit' area
This morning did Body Combat then U Jam.
-
Walked around art festival about 2 hrs after church was exercise for today. Chilly here so haven't gotten on bike for awhile. At least staying light later so happy about that. Happy Lynn and I will do a class together t'm.
-
Ruth- I really do enjoy working as a counselor. My DD and her drill team walked away w/ awards in 6 different categories, including one for the highest GPA. I would have to say it was a great day! The girls were all so proud, which they should be. They have been practicing around the clock. You must have really enjoyed your time as a dance and Pom coach. My DD is ready to try out for Captain for next year. She loves it.
Badger-The video was interesting. It is unbelievable how much they know about it all. Thank you for sharing.
HBCheryl-I too have dropped my Fitbit, luckily my daughter noticed before we walked away. A friend of mine recently found one at an amusement park. It is a bummer, but a great time to upgrade.
Patoo-You can get lots of walking in at festivals. I enjoy going to any they have nearby.
Today I rode my bike w/ DH. The weather was chilly, but nice
-
hbcheryl....Is the One also a fitbit? Not sure I like the HR as it is big. The Flex is on sale for $79.99 at BBB so think I'm going to take my $20% off coupon and just go by another one. I was at Mom's this afternoon and it wasn't there. Didn't bother looking in the street!! and not going to call the stores I was at. I figure if someone found it, they are going to keep it. I was more upset that I didn't know it fell off till it was too late.
How about the Broncos!!!! It's the only game I watched all season. I don't remember the 99 Super Bowl as much as I do the 98 as I was 8 months pregnant with my youngest daughter at the 98 Super Bowl when the Broncos won. I bought a Super Bowl t-shirt that fit me then but after my daughter born it was way too ginormous so I gave it to a friend who was a big fan!!
Back to walking tomorrow!!! Need to get ready for the work week. I have a class after work on Tuesday that I have work to do and on Thursday I have my mid year evaluation and need to get ready for that...behind the 8 ball!!!
Have a good week.
-
We are Cheryl and no tress down yet. Badger, like the photo of everyone in their jersey. Thank you (((All))) for the happy anniversary and we enjoyed a relaxing day together. Going to hunker down after chores and errands to work tai chi moves for upcoming workshop. Have more BB cover days over these next two weeks as one instructor this week is having an epidural steroid injection in her lower back for herniated disc and I hope she get's relief. Know a few women instructors in their mid-late 40's who have been teaching for the past 20+ years, and now experience over training injuries, particularly in their lower backs. I'm observing and learning. Off to get this day on the move.
-
Yoga this morning, Zumba tonight, MUST clean the house in-between & drag paperwork out to start taxes
Annie, congratulations to DD & her team. Nobody realizes how much work goes into those performances. My coaching career came about as part of the "other duties as to be assigned" clause on my first teaching contract, so I had no idea of what I was getting into. Luckily I was young so I was able to figure it out right along side of the girls. It was lots of work but lots of fun too!
-
Took advantage of daylight and above-freezing temps on Sunday to get in a 5 mile run. A nice change from the dreadmill. Half hour of yoga stretches this morning.
Loved the Subaru dog commercials, as well as the Heinz weiner dog commercial. (Can you tell I'm a dog person??) The puppy baby monkey thing creeped me out. I thought Lady Gaga did a fantastic job on the national anthem, but that the half time show was blah. I was underwhelmed by the game and went to bed in the 3rd quarter.
-
Glad I'm not the only one who thought half-time was boring. I didn't watch much of the game either, just not a football person.
mysunshine and I (and my sister) did Low Impact Strength training class today. May take a walk over to mailboxes later as need to get in more steps. Weather in 60's but it's very windy so we'll see. Could jump on treadmill.
ruthbru, I also need to pull out paperwork for taxes. Maybe will do that today.
Later sculpted friends.
-
Karen- I lost my fitbit and emailed them and they sent me a new one free of charge. They could tell that I wore it regularly and then just stopped so they replaced it. Good luck.
LB- my DD is doing a semester abroad in London right now. She is having a great time!
Edited to add: we have another snow day here so shovel and sculpt will happen at some point.
-
Karen, do call the stores about your lost Fitbit. DH was a director in retail for years and tons of stuff gets turned in including fitbits, wallets with money, brand new, expensive purchases that people made. Most people are not thiefs and will turn it in if it's found. Maybe it's lying in a snowbank but if found in the store it might be there.
I thought the game was Boring, the halftime was boring, the commercials were boring. Wish I'd gone to the movies.
-
Cheryl. . .I'm a huge fan of Doc Martin and other Brit tele shows.
Nats. . .I only watched the first half of the game and spent most of that time tweeting thumbs up or down for the commercials. I will probably never get puppy monkey baby out of my head.
Another long crazy work day and now at the gym feeding my FitbitHR. Can't wait for my new Fitbit Blaze.
Ruth. . .thanks for the reminder that I need to get on our annual tax extension. With my schedule we always end up needing it.
Scottie
-
Hi everyone, I'm also a Doc Martin fan as well as British mysteries.
Did 30 minutes with Leslie Sansone via walking DVD today. I've had some heel pain so I bought an arch support thing that seemed to help. I also just ordered a new pair of sneakers.
Thanks everyone for helping me keep moving!! I enjoy your stories and progress.
-
Ginger...I emailed Fitbit Saturday night and so far haven't heard from them yet. I averaged over 100,000 steps/week.
Two.....maybe I'll call. i was in one of the stores today and didn't even think to ask!!!
BBB has the Fitbit Flex on sale for 80. I decided to take advantage of the sale and 20% coupon and got a new one today. I'm not going to use it yet, waiting to see if Fitbit does anything for me. if not, then I have a new one for just under $70 with tax. I'll wait til the week-end. I may email Fitbit again tomorrow.
Tomorrow is a long day for me. I'll get a morning walk in and a night walk but not sure if I'll have time for one during the work day. I have a department meeting/training from 8 - 11, then need to hurry over to my Tuesday school and see my kids. Then after school I have a professional development class that meets once a month from 4:15 to 6:15 and its across town from where I live. I'll get home about 7:00. I have some work due for it tomorrow but too tired tonight to even do it. Not sure if I have time tomorrow to get it done!!! Not the good student!!!
Going to go watch the news, make lunch and get into bed early!! Yes, 10:30 or so is early for me!!
-
Well, the Panthers lost. Just wait until next year! Congratulations on your Broncos, Karen.
I've been a slug today and will do better tomorrow.
Here's something for everyone who mentioned the PuppyMonkeyBaby commercial (it was creepy!)
-
Ginger, good for your daughter and not easy to study over here since tightening up the student visa system. Reader & Scottie, my 92 year old neighbor each night watches re-run of Doc Martin. Kindergatren, if you do come to London, love to meet up with you. Meant to meet up with our Mary a few years back yet my DH's medical test kept me here in Kent and sadly could not get into London. Annie, well done to your DD and her team.
Body Balance this morning at the gym
-
No formal exercise, but last night I took Dexter for a run up eight flights of stairs. This was after a huge, heavy meal too
-
We had a hazmat situation at our work yesterday and the building was closed at 1. So I took advantage of an unexpected afternoon off and walked to the clubhouse with the indoor pool (1.5 miles) and got in a good half hour of lap swimming then walked home. So I got in a bonus 3 mile walk and a bunch of swimming.
I was checked out by 7 of the local residents as I walked by . . .
More snow today, but only a few inches are predicted.
-
Neat picture, Mary.
Cardio Sculpt this morning & I am going to Barre in a few minutes. We are supposed to get some snow overnight too.
-
Nats: Hope the hazmat situation has been cleared up. Your deer really like you!
I've been much better today (not being a slug). Walked/ran this afternoon.
