Get me through this wait please!

Options

Just finished my last of 6 rounds of chemo on the 24th. I don't meet with the surgeon until Feb 17th and I feel like I am going to lose my mind :-( Whereas initially I felt some shrinkage now I feel that the tumor has grown again. Throughout six rounds the oncologist never once checked to see if it was making a difference, even though I asked and now I am thinking I should have pushed harder. I hate feeling like a ticking time bomb :-( Need some encouragement, please!

The waiting is hard no matter what part of this you are going through. I had SX first, so can't help you with tests, protocol, etc. If you need some meds to keep you calmed down, ask your MO. Best wishes moving forward.

If it makes you feel any better, there is supposed to be no difference in outcome whether your chemo is before surgery or after surgery. That tells me that the cancer will do what it's going to do regardless of if you are waiting for surgery or not. They chose this route of treatment for you because it is best for your particular diagnosis and the route is tried and tested.I'm actually waiting for surgery (scheduled 2/16) after completing chemo (1/13). I've found that coming down from chemo I've had a lot of hormonal changes including breast changes affecting density. This can make the lump seem larger (if your breast tissue is thinning out).
