Ducky, That is probably the most photographed statue in the world and it should have been my first guess, but since it's you running this I thought of David first, lol, and then realized that's in Europe...I quickly changed it to Sphinx and then, well you know the rest. I am certain that if the others were actively engaged in the game they would have beat me to it. It is beautiful!

Edit: here's an elaboration/hint--I'll be away from my computer for a couple of hours and didn't want people diving in with specific guesses. Chances are good that those who know of him, heard of him via something he did in the entertainment industry. But I would not describe him as (just) in the entertainment business. Nor is he as well-known as, say, George Burns.
