Hi, all,

I am so glad to find out there is so much great information in this community. I was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer about two months ago and right now I am going through chemo first. Then will do surgery. Does anyone know good surgeon in Atlanta area?

Thanks a lot.

Dr Jennifer Amerson at Breast Care Specialists in Atlanta. I'm six years out now, my oncologist just retired and I saw the new one a few days ago for my routine check up. The new oncologist is a female who used that practice as well, for herself, and we live 2 hours north of Atlanta.

Thank you for your response, Susie. I heard about Breast Care Specialists too. Was your surgeon Dr Jennifer Amerson? They have several surgeons.  When I called, they said Dr Jennifer Amerson has been fully booked out for months, but have two others available. One is Dr Stallings. I don't know if it is ok to schedule it with others, from their office, other than Dr Jennifer Amerson.

Yes, my surgeon was Dr Jennifer Amerson. I'm not familiar with Dr Stallings. I have however heard good things about Dr Steinhaus who is also in that group. You might want to ask your onco to call for you to see if they can get you in with Dr Amerson or Dr Steinhaus. Sometimes specialist offices respond better to other Drs referrals.

In the same building....I used Dr James Namnoum. I LOVE him, and that practice. I just had nipple recon 8 weeks ago. When the bandages came off I literally cried. He placed the nipples over the scars to perfection. You have to look REALLY closely to even tell that I had anything ever done!! (And I had a double mx with implants after rads)

Thanks for your answer, geewhiz. I will check him out. Looks like he only does the re-construction though.
