Hi motherofboys:
I am so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. You are so young -- I don't understand either. I was a lot older (52) and had a different diagnosis, but I also felt very lonely. There is a lot of support here, and there are some threads you might join. Others should come along soon.

Hi, motherofboys. Welcome and I'm so sorry that you have cause to be here. I was considered very young for my diagnosis and I was 34, so I can't even imagine how you must feel. You haven't yet listed what kind of characteristics your cancer has displayed, such as whether it's positive or negative for estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR), and whether there's an abundance of HER2/neu protein present. Knowing whether you're positive or negative for some or all will dictate the path your medical oncologist (MO) takes with regard to treatment regimens. I know there's so much to learn right now in addition to being completely overwhelmed by the shock of diagnosis. In case it hasn't already been suggested to you, then I wanted to mention that with your age, you should strongly consider genetic testing. If you are indeed positive for a BRCA mutation, it could shed some light on possible treatment regimens which are more effective for those with genetic mutations, such as the addition of a PARP-inhibitor as well as the use of a platinum based chemotherapy.
Again, I'm so sorry you're here. Please know that there is so much support on this site.
