When can I do insulin injections and finger sticks again?

I had a mastectomy November 6, 2015 and had a hematoma surgically drained December 20, 2015. I was wearing drainage bottles from November 6 until a few days ago(Actually, the last one fell out while I was taking a shower. Plastic surgeon said it was OK, he was going to remove it anyway). When can I start doing finger sticks for glucose testing and insulin injections on the right side again? After three months of doing them only on the left side it's pretty bruised and used up. I've asked my surgeon, plastic surgeon, and PCP and they keep passing me around to each other. I think none of them knows. Anybody have any been there, done that info?
