Anyone with enlarged aorta

i just finished my 1 year herceptin. Was told by cardiologist that I have enlarged aorta

Would like to hear from breast cancer patients who experienced same and what treatment was offered

    Hi Suewah,

    People with an enlarged aorta should have a scan every few years to see if their aorta is getting bigger. At a certain size range, it's recommended to have surgery. I assume yours is not that big now or your cardiologist would have talked about surgery already.

    I'd been following my enlarged aorta (near my heart, not the abdominal part of the aorta) for a few years. I googled around and found some info about radiation causing stenosis of the aorta - narrowing - but that's about it. Last year I went to a different (better rated) cardiology group for another ultrasound and, what do you know, they said it was not enlarged. So you might want to get a second opinion about your enlarged aorta!
