I am glad WE are all doing better, too!! Glad to hear from all who checked in. HUGS to each of you!

Feeling really good about my hair coming in, and I know it has a lot more gray (used to be curly dark brown), but I am 52, and I just want hair.

    Hi Everyone!!

I hope those who live in the states near the impending blizzard are prepared for the snow starting tomorrow night through the weekend. If you don't have to travel, stay indoors and be safe!

I just wanted to give a quick update - I finished my radiation (28 treatments) last Friday...YAY!! Luckily I am not itchy but I was told that my skin will turn red, brown and then begin to settle down. I am taking a yoga class for Cancer patients which is wonderful. If you have an opportunity to do yoga, you should give it a try. Next week I will also be taking a Cancer Fitness Class at the Health and Wellness Center connected to the hospital near me. The program will focus on better health, nutrition, and an exercise plan that is tailored specifically for me. Since I had 7 lymph nodes removed, I can't move my right arm like I use to. I am still doing my Herceptin and Perjeta infusions every 3 weeks, which have been going well with no side effects like chemo. The one thing that is annoying is my constant runny nose. At first I thought it was allergies but then I wondered if it's from the two drugs. Has anyone had similar issues?

Rainnyc, Steflove and Shanann - how are you doing? How long have you all been on Tamoxifen? Have you experienced any side effects? I have my next infusion on 1/25 and I am sure my MO is going to ask me what I want to do: Tamoxifen or the other option was Ovarian Supression - Lupron/Trelstar & Exemestane (aromatase inhibitor).

Be well and be safe everyone!!! HUGS and PEACE.....Sharon

Hi Sharapril, nice to hear from you! We've battened down the hatches and are waiting for the storm. It sounds as if you're doing well. I finished radiation late in December. Got pretty well burned but mostly healed now. For what it's worth, the side effects peaked about 2 weeks after rads were done. I'm so glad that's over!

I'm also getting Herceptin and Perjeta every three weeks, and I also get the occasional runny nose. It's never very much, but it's there. I also have an occasional rash on my arms and legs, which I've also been told might be a SE. Still, compared to chemo, it's so easy! I'm ER/PR negative, so no Tamoxifen for me. I'm curious: your signature says HER2 negative; how is it that you're getting Herceptin/Perjeta?

Your fitness class sounds great. I did a yoga class years ago when I was pregnant--loved it.

Well, we're prepared for the storm! Stay warm and dry!

Hello From Snowy NJ !! We survived the blizzard and ended up with 2 feet of snow but luckily did not lose power. My kids are happy they don't have school tomorrow but I have my infusion treatment at 10 am. I am hoping the roads are not to icy since the temperature has already fallen below freezing. I will get there when I get there that's all I can do.

Rainnyc - Nice to hear from you! Did you get 30" of snow where you are? I feel sorry for the folks down the Jersey shore who got both snow and flooding. Most are still recovering from Superstorm Sandy: the weather has been so extreme it's crazy!! Thanks for noticing my diagnosis - which didn't update. I am HER2+ after surgery. My tumor was tested with FISH - so I have to now do the Herceptin for a year and Perjeta for 6 months. I've since updated my info so it should come up right now!

We got a couple of feet! Here's the view from our front steps on Saturday, and that large shape in the lower right is the car. We dug it out yesterday, but I don't think we're going anywhere for a while! The moon last night was beautiful; I couldn't believe how clear it was after all the snow. Stay warm, everyone!

rainnyc:  Beautiful photo!  I never saw that much snow when I lived in NYC.  Since I lived in Manhattan (82/York) I didn't have a car to worry about!

sharapril2021:  2 feet of snow, amazing!  Electricity is good - heat + water are nice.  I grew up in Maplewood/South Orange.  Had a "snow day" from school on my birthday one year.  Drive safely (if you have to).

    Keep safe and warm, Easterners!
