Wow, that's kinda freaky! I'm definitely going to start growing broccoli sprouts now.... Just coincidentally I'm having broccoli-mushroom green curry for dinner (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17178902)
-
I should already be cancer free I eat so much broccoli
-
me too, i eat broccoli every week but just laugh at these sorts of posts
-
all I do is fart after broccoli.
-
My mother-in-law ate tons of broccoli still died of invasive bc. I ate hardly any broccoli and I still got dcis.

Obxflygirl1 LOL. I have to take digestive enzymes because I had my gall bladder out several years ago and I found that I could digest food better if I took them. I will admit, that I have not eaten broccoli much in the past several years because of what you said it does to you (LOL). But, since it does have so many nutrients and it good for you, I'm going to try it again with my digestive enzymes and see if that helps
The digestive enzymes help with digestion of course, but also with gas and bloating
As far as it curing or preventing Cancer, who knows. But, the bottom line is, it is good for you to eat anyhow. Anything to boost my health and immune system sounds good to me.

If only.

Thank you once again cp418!! I am so grateful for the time you take to share such informative information!! I love when info continues to support my decisions for my health! Had read a study along these lines from Johns Hopkins and in fact they showed pics of breast cancer tumors shrinking from eating broccoli sprouts!! Eat my sprouts most everyday and juice cabbage, broccoli and such each day!! Praying all this continues to keep me NED!! Thank you again!!

Eat your broccoli. In addition to, not instead of surgery, chemo, rads or hormone therapy.
-
Just for clarification the study was about broccoli sprouts which you need to grow yourself since it is not sold in stores. This is broccoli that is abut a week old. What we get in the store is fully developed broccoli.

Well I read that the smell of the hydrogen sulfide from farts is supposed to cure cancer and I'm not even kidding so eat your broccoli babes. My students are always working hard to extend my life lol.
Also, broccoli sprouts are supposed to be the best way to eat broccoli and I read that the ones that are 2 days grown are the most powerful, but at 2 days they barely look popped out of the seed. I've started a little indoor mini garden for microgreens and I've planted lettuce, spinach, broccoli, and wheat for greens in there. Today I pinched off some wheat grass and ate that so I made my first harvest.

Pipers dream, you made me laugh! (Lucky you to have such considerate students!)
I thought this part of the study was really intriguing:
"Interestingly, circulating miR159 was significantly more abundant in healthy donors in comparison to BC patients (Figure 1A). Furthermore, circulating miR159 was significantly less abundant in BC patients who relapsed with metastatic disease within 3.5 years after serum collection compared to patients who did not have disease progression during 2-6 years of follow-up. In addition, significantly lower levels of circulating miR159 were associated with a negative status of estrogen receptor (ER) or progesterone receptor (PR) expression in the tumor, whereas the expression of HER2 and inflammation status in the tumor were not associated with miR159 levels (Supplementary information, Tables S3 and S4). These results indicate that plant miR159 sequences are present in human serum and are inversely correlated with BC incidence and progression."

agree ChiSandy as I personally practice Integrative Oncology! And yes, Brutersmom, you can buy broccoli sprouts in stores, but I have not found organic sprouts so I do grow my own. Also, it is my understanding you need to eat a cup to a cup and a half of sprouts at 1-11/2 inches long. I would encourage each to do extensive reach if you are interested in any treatment whether conventional or complementary choices! We're more likely to live our own convictions based on knowledge in regards to choices in treatment! cp418's posts are a great source of knowledge! Thank you cp418!
