cp418, thanks for posting that last article. I did not realize hypofractionation was turning out to be so much better than standard 6 week schedules of radiation therapy! Length of treatment is one of the barriers for breast cancer patients getting radiation treatment, so shortening the time could make it much more accessible. Not to mention the studies showed fewer distant metastases, fewer side effects, and a (10 year) 20% survival benefit with a shorter series of radiation treatments. And the studies were replicated in Denmark. This should be the standard in the U.S., too (with exceptions for contraindications)!
