Sunshine... its funny how temperature is all relative!!! 60 for S. FL is cold but for Oregon or for Colorado its nice and warm for January!!! But in the summer, 60 isn't so warm!! Good luck with your move. When my folks lived in S. FL, Mom would say it was cold out and i would ask her the temp and she would say 60!! Now Mom is near me in Denver and she is back with winter weather!!
-
Did some weights and took a long walk this morning.
-
Welcome Ivy!
Went to the gym for resistance training last night. The gym was just the way I like it, loud and crowded....said no one ever! I was able to do 30 mins of resistance training but then ran out of options for the rest due to too many people there. I will go again tomorrow and over the weekend when it is less crowded. I will do my walk today for exercise around the client building!
-
mysunshine: Good Luck moving this weekend!
Beautiful day today. Hard to believe that The Storm is coming but it is. Dh making margaritas now. We are prepared!
Walked/ran today.
-
Stay safe to those in the path of the storm. Reader I heard one to two feet in DC? Well that won't be much fun.
A slight warm up to 24 degrees so I went for a 30 minute walk before it turned dark.
-
Bad - you go, girl!
Somebody blew a breaker at the Y tonight. It probably had something to do with the construction for the remodeling. There were no lights in the women's locker room, and one of the staff had to use her cellphone's flashlight app to help me get my locker open and my stuff out so I could go home. Good grief!
-
Twohobbies, yes DC metro is getting slammed and we aren't known for handling this stuff well! My niece said there was a long line at the liquor store tonight...
Best wishes to all in the path of the storm. Keep warm!
-
Thanks, Wonderland. I am still up at 1:00 a.m. after packing and more organizing today. Moving is a huge job. And, my son was coming to help, from Virginia, but he called earlier tonight and his flight was canceled and cannot get any. 3000 flights canceled! Ohhhhhhh! I need some sleep!
-
Oh, and, yes, Reader......you are definitely having a snowy week-end! Hot chocolate and cookies coming your way!!!
-
Thanks for the congrats and been a good week. Ditto Jazzy: http://www.buzzfeed.com/candacelowry/reasons-why-the-gym-is-hell-on-earth-in-january#.ciD26kDyM
Freestyle step class at the gym this am

Bad, good way to look at things!
Congrats, Lilac! I am in awe of your determination.
Ginger, hope things are back to normal soon for you.
Yesterday was a rest day, but did get in some biking doing errands and some steps in the Museum. The day before was probably a record day for steps, if I had had my phone on me in the evening. Did 22,000 steps in the morning and 3 hours of Tango in the evening. Cheryl I also kicked myself in the hand several times with this release. Twohobbies, you must be the person behind me in class.
-
Good morning ladies! Good luck for those in the east. I have not forgotten the time I shoveled my ex and myself out of waist-deep snow. Hoping that a bit less. Got a smile about the mob at the liquor store.
LilacBlue....major congrats on the certification, and especially the "distinction". Major accomplishment, not to mention that I think THE way to stay fit.
Bad....was so touched by your comments. Hoping they send those suckers to kingdom come. Right way to look at things.
Coming up for air as got one major project out the door last night. Two more within the next month plus my grant writing. Yesterday, I helped edit a piece that will be published in USA Today in February.
The American Brain Tumor Association did a webinar yesterday on vaccine therapy, which will be uploaded today for viewing. Dr. Ian Parney of the Mayo Clinic, http://www.abta.org/brain-tumor-information/anytime-learning/ . It should be available later today. I thought Dr. Parney was wonderful at explaining how immunology works and a great teacher.
I am looking forward to a partial break in the action which will happen about 4 weeks from now (I think). Meanwhile, hope to get up skiing this weekend, but raining in Snoqualmie Pass at the moment. Skiing in the rain is the pits!!! I also need to get on my bicycle as the first event is only 6 weeks away. I will DIE if I don't get in at least a bit of training. Expecting to get my butt kicked.
Now for my "outfit" for the Undie Run! Promise pix. Just one month from now, rain or shine. Hoping for the latter. - Claire

Ginger hope you're completely on the mend.
Lilac. . .huge congrats! I wish we had someone like you here. I believe that exercise is absolutely critical to my recovery and life.
Wonderland and everyone in the storm's path, stay safe and warm.
Bad at. . .you have an amazing attitude. . .continued prayers and hugs.
I'm at the gym feeding the Fitbit before Snowmaggeddon2 hits here in Lanta. I'm trying not to get an ulcer over the fact that my HF autistic dd is supposed to go into work at 4 and close tonight at 10:30. She works at Bojangles which will probably not close early even though our DOT has told everyone to stay off the roads starting at 3pm. I told her to call her manager and let me know.
Worried Scottie
-
Lilac the buzzfeed post made me laugh and also happy to be working out at home.
Scottie hopefully your daughter is home safe now even if she did go to work. I'm happy to miss a snowmagedon for once but sorry for those who won't be so lucky.
My hubby and I walked 35 minutes today. Then I watched him do weights. Does that count?
-
Yikes, be careful out there East Coast people! Had lots of fun hiking around the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert, my favorite place in Arizona.
-
East coast folks, be careful. Shovel and Sculpt is necessary but take it easy (I remember well!)
Yesterday 4-mile Leslie Sansone then went out dancing in the evening. Total of over 13,000 steps but on the other side was plenty of eating/snacking. Cool and very windy here today so not sure what will get in but will do something (other than eat).
-
hi all and welcome ivy2. Been out of town on business the past few days. Hotel unexpectedly gave me a big corner room so was glad I brought yoga mat as got to use it for once. Usually get a tiny room with nowhere to stretch. Opted to skip drinks & dinner out and do pm yoga then walk for a light meal. Felt virtuous and slept like a log on a king-sized bed. We have a queen and it's all right but a king would be better. On the wish list for new house.
LB, congrats on passing with distinction!
patoo, moving into a new house is great motivation for culling stuff. Need to do more myself.
Stay safe everyone in the path of The Storm. Mary picked a great time to leave town on a cruise!
Will walk later today as sunny and near-30 so warm enough to bundle up and get outdoors. ♥
-
Pretty trail, Rruth. Thanks for sharing a green scene. All I saw on my trail today was white, which is better than gray. 42 minute walk for me today.
-
I was back at the gym today. . .not much snow for us but wind chill was nasty. Dd did make it home fine last night. Her restaurant closed early. Very proud of her for showing so much responsibility.
Stay safe and warm all.

Beautiful picture Ruth!
Badger: Did you walk in -30 degrees??? How did you do that?!?!
We were lucky in this storm. Only had 3 inches of snow that includes a layer of ice in the middle. Our electricity is still on (so thankful!) and the margaritas have been delicious.
Fast walked in the house today. My cats just don't understand what in the $%#@ I'm doing and they try to get in my way to trip me!
-
LOL Wonderland, I meant near thirty degrees not minus thirty! My post was confusing. :-)
Walked my 2.5 mile route this afternoon.
-
I walked at the trail this morning and last night. It was just beautiful outside, but a little chilly. Here is a picture from last night's walk
Ruth- Your picture of Arizona looks beautiful!
Everyone in areas getting snow, blizzards, and storms stay warm!
-
1/23- busy day working around the house, but topped the day off with a nice 25 min walk. I notice it is light now until 6 p.m. About another five or six week to day light savings! Yay!
-
Gorgeous day for walking in Denver today. Reached close to 60 with sun!! Tomorrow will be in the high 30's!!! with chance of snow into Monday. then it will warm up again as the week goes on. We still have some ice/snow in places that is melting during the day then freezing again at night....can't wait till its all gone, but walking has been easier the past few days.....
-
Exercise for the day is shoveling us out from the storm yesterday.
-
Packing boxes in preparation for housemove. Walking to the gym and back to take a shower. Not feeling like doing anything more than that!
-
Good to see you, Penzance, welcome back. Good luck with house move, lots of work, I know.
Did 20 mins AM yoga & 10 mins meditation this morning. Nice way to wake up. Will walk later.
-
Here is a composite of pictures from where we went hiking yesterday. My new favorite place in Arizona, Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park. Trees, plants and sculptures from all over the world, great trails for hikers of all levels, and spectacular scenery!
-
Shovel and sculpt followed by sledding with my church youth group. Climbing back up the hill is a workout!
-
Exercise today was cleaning and detoxing 13yo ds's room. Trust me when I say the 2hr bi-annual event burns serious calories.
