So my dear ladies, today is my birthday! I am now 33 years old. Although I was diagnosed a couple weeks ago, I am excited, happy and in amazing spirits. When I blow out the candles on my cake I will be wishing for ALL of us to be cancer free....that is my biggest wish. Let's stay positive ladies and don't let the fear take over. I have a good friend who beat this disease last year and she very poignantly told me cancer feeds off your joy. So be happy and enjoy the little things....you're not sick just momentarily compromised xoxo

    My dear RLM, like I've said in some of my posts. I lost my sister less than two months ago. She was 30 years old. And then on 12/31 got diagnosed with this disease. If there's one thing I've learmed from living through tragedy it's that the world is about more than just me. I've never been selfish but I didn't really know pain until now. When I think about anyone else going through pain like this I wish it didn't exist. I don't wish it on anyone. So I pray for myself, my family, the 2 kids my sister left behind, all of you and everyone on this Earth. We all deserve peace. God bless you all

    Juju, you have a beautiful soul (to match your beautiful face!), thank you for your wish. Coincidentally, my daughter turned 13 on Jan. 14th, she confided in her dad that she'd made that very same wish! Happy belated birthday.

    Your birthday wishes, compliments, and kind words made my day. I've hit a few bumps on the road recently and reading all your posts brought a smile to my face. Next week I'll finally now whether chemo or surgery comes first....feeling strong and as ready as I'll ever be. Thinking of all of you and wishing you tons of strength and love.

    P.S. This journey has inspired me to write a lot...I suggest it to all of you. It's an amazing outlet

    Hi Trvler, thanks so much for the birthday wishes, your condolences and for the beautiful compliment. I hope I was a good sister everyday I had her with me. Now my focus is getting healthy so I can be the best mom to her little girl. I'm having a mastectomy on February 9th. Any tips, advice? Would love any information you can share. God bless

    There should be a lot of tips on the surgery in the surgery forum. Are you having reconstruction? HOw old is your little girl? I have two, 10 and almost 12. Not so little anymore.

    yes I am having reconstruction. I decided on implants. Yeah for tissue expanders said no one lol. She's 4 :)
