Just wondering if there are any other lower limb amputees anywhere on this forum? Would love to discuss post surgery care...................with limited mobility.

Tanya, I am not a lower limb amputee. But I did help my ex father in law when he had shoulder surgery. He is upper and lower one-sided amputee and unfortunately tore his rotator cuff on his one arm. He had a lot of help, do you? I love to soak in my tub, and after my bilateral mastectomy, I could hardly get out because of the muscles in my chest. I'm assuming you're probably stronger than i in your upper extremities. I had expanders placed at the same time, perhaps your diep might make it easier for you since there is little or no muscle involvement in your chest. However there are other problems to consider such as your abdominal incision, etc.

Either way, you'll need assistance. If you don't live with anyone, maybe you can get home health to help with adls?
