Ugh, I had a CT and bone scan on Thursday, I'm afraid to look at my patient portal, I have an appointment with my MO on Tues.  what if it's bad? What if it's good?  I know I sound like a crazy person, but I'm torn.

I want to look, but I don't...any advice???

Perhaps you could have your significant other or close family member check it first and then break the news gently or celebrate in case it's good news. I don't see this any different than answering the phone and hearing the news from your MO. Good luck to you.

That's a good point Amy (no different than answering the phone), thank you!

I have portals at four hospitals. All of them hold back results for three days (one with a most annoying countdown until liftoff). Some of these allow the doc to override the wait and post immediately. If your portal is of the three-day variety, as Monday is a holiday, that might keep your result under cover until you see your onc. Also, if the news is not good, knowing the portal is out there, won't your onc call you?

my scan from Friday is not posted, and I am glad. I would rather go see my doctor Monday and have him tell me what he sees than read it and Google things and worry even more

Thank you BrooksideVT, I will have to look at my portal, I'm new to all this so I'm not sure how everything works yet.  I'm assuming my MO would call? Even if I have an appointment on Tues?!?! I guess that is a question that I need to ask her.

Notdoneyet, that's  my fear, that I will read something and have no idea what it means, and get myself all worked up for nothing.

My patient portal does not post xray or scan results. Only lab tests. And this is for a large statewide onco group. Not sure why and never asked. Well, I'm sure my MO would have some flippant answer, prob. why I've never asked.

And yes good to question MO on when they will call and what parameters they will call about.
