Ossa, I just checked back in two places and same number but I will PM you right now with it in case I got it wrong.
-
Ossa, I called and left a message on her number~~sounded like her. Hope you connected.
Last shout out for our potluck get-together for tomorrow! PM me if you don't have my address. See many of you tomorrow and can't wait.
-
Marian - would love to be there! Hopefully next year. I am in sunny Maui - the ocean is so soothing - both for the body and the soul. So grateful
-
Marian, I have not been able to get in touch with her =( Have tried a few times Left a Message for her Hoping she shows up where I suggested we meet. I am bringing my friend Heidi who was my biggest support during treatment. Some of you will have "heard" me "talking" about her as she started treatment 6 months before me. Her and her DH helped us through treatment they are pretty amazing people and I am happy she wanted to come and meet all of you See you all in a few hours

Marian,
Thank you so much for hosting the potluck and for inviting me. It was so good to meet so many amazing women and have the chance to share experiences and to learn even more about this horrible bc.
-
Marian had a great time yesterday at the potluck, so glad I went. Met some wonderful ladies was very inspiring and fun. Looking forward to next years😊
-
Loved our time together, ladies! Much love and strength to you all.
-
PS - Thank you, Marian, for hosting it once again! And for all the treats...although I swear my jeans are tighter today because of it :-)
-
Smiles to all of you! Wendy, I hope your sons were happy with the windfall too. We actually had 17 women attend, beating last two years' records. New Day could only stay a short but so happy she came. There was some talk of a sleepover option for next year too. Thanks to everyone for all the amazing food. Potlucks are the best!
-
Yes they were Marian thanks again😊
-
Wendy can you PM the recipe for the almond/"chocolate" balls you made?
-
Will do😊
-
me too Wendy. :
-
Do you think we would get in trouble with the moderators if Wendy just posted it here?
-
Nah. It was a healthy dessert that everyone here could benefit from. :-)
-
Okay this is a dessert that has no processed sugar or flour or any bad stuff😃
Using a food processor add 1/2 almonds and 1/2 cup walnuts grind up so they are finely mixed. Next add 1 1/2 cup dates 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 tsp almond extract ( use the natural one not the artificial one) 1 tsp instant coffee grounds, hand full of cranberries and a hand full of chocolate chips ( found some at choices that are sweetened with stevia and they taste great) and three tablespoons cocoa powder. Marian I think I forgot to add that to your PMed recipe. And pulse until combined. I like to soak the dates a little in water then drain to add some moister. Roll into balls and roll in coconut. Store in fridge for up to two weeks. If you have a flavour of dried fruit that you would prefer to cranberries ie apricots or mangoes they can be used instead it's pretty forgiving.
-
It was so great to see all of you ladies and meet new friends. Wish I could have stayed longer and got to know each one of you.
Thank you so much for hosting Marian!
Hugs to you all xo
-
Thanks Marian for hosting and your generosity!
Wendy3, thank for sharing the recipe! Mmmm!
It's really good to connect and to see so many of you.
Finally having a better day today. May you all have a good day today and the rest of the week, too!
-
Marian, Grateful to you for hosting! Appreciate the opportunity to meet all the ladies (incl. two "neighbours"!) and try the delicious foods, I ate and learned a lot. Thanks Wrenn and Ossa for the photos, and Wendy for the recipe-it certainly takes a planner to bring this to a party!
Look forward to seeing all of you next time

Hi everyone. It's Carrie. So sorry to have missed the potluck but have ended up in LMH short stay surgery tower. in short, Thursday afternoon I called 911 to come in since I could not get a hold of my breathing patterns. nOw I am on full oxygen and high quantities of morphine to help me breath. I've ended up in a private room with excellent nursing care. As soon as a bed comes open for hospice I will be taking it.
looks like the end might be not so clear now...if I can hold on another 10'weeks I can see another daughter walk down the a aisle⛪️🎉
-
Oh Carrie looking at your avetar I see a beautiful stronge woman. I wish there was some way of sending strength through the stupid internet. Don't ever give up , I know it's aweful don't they have more treatment options for you? You have the same cancer as I do have you thought about trying cannabinoides even at this stage? So far I am having good success with it. Think of yourself getting stronger and getting out of the dumb hospital and watching your daughter walk down the aisle. I keep sounding like a lunatic with this medical marajuana crap I know. But think if it would help you how grand that would be? I'm rambling big hug.
Wendy

Oh Carrie, so sorry about the progression. Like Wendy said , never give up, think of your beautiful daughter and her walking down the isle. Sorry you missed our pot luck this year.. Sending strong healing vibes your way (((((Hugs))))
-
PM sent to you Carrie. Fingers crossed for the wedding.
-
Carrie, thank you for letting us know. Never ever give up hope! Focus on getting better and seeing your daughter walk down the aisle. The mind is powerful beyond our imagination. The following are excerpts of and a link to an article that explains this scientifically.
"...the heart can secrete the life saving hormones, which not only kills 95 % of cancer cells within 24 hours, but for other terminally ill also have an excellent therapeutic effect!"
"Cardiac hormones secreted by cancer cells directly kill cancer cells and inhibit DNA synthesis and growth of cancer cells to be effective, rather than accelerate cancer cells self deconstruction."

Hope this helps!

Oh shit, Carrie, so sorry to hear of your struggle. Huge hugs and much love and strength your way. And congrats on your daughter's upcoming wedding. Thinking of you and everyone else on here.
