    I also wanted to add my own personal tip for recovery. Instead of using the dressing the doctors give you, stuff your bras with maxi-pads. They stay in place much easier than the regular bandages and are much more absorbent. And they are more comfortable.

    Twirp that shirt rocks! I'm super squimish too so I hated the drains but the worse part was the shower having to hold the drains in one hand and wash with the othe, the mesh holder is a life saver! Mvspaulding I am the breadwinner in the family so I really have to push myself. And listen I didn't say the wig isn't uncomfortable but that T-Gel shampoo really helped!

    I didn't have any time to get the tissue expanders with my mastectomy so I get to go through all that after March and final round 6! Brithael they all look great! I'm hoping they have a short blonde next week at LGFB then I'll have choices! I got a "Cher" wig too but don't wear it to work, doesn't really scream workI'm all about trying new stuff!

    Lyra10, I also love the hair!! Looks beautiful and very natural. I need to get another style, change it up a bit. I wear scarves a lot.I Just experiment with different fabrics.

    Britheal, Really love all three looks but think 3rd is my fave!! They all also look so natural. I would never know! So pretty!!

    Loving all my new beautiful BC sisters!! Hope everyone is hanging in there staying strong!!

    I guess everyone's doctors are different. My Dr didn't allow showering while I had my drains. So I used a lot of body wipes and washed my hair in the sink. So I couldn't wait for those damn drains to come out so I could take a hot shower!

    I love your wig Lyra, I think I might need to change it up and get a long style wig too. Right now, still bumpy so I am in a hat again today. Thinking I need to get more creative with my look.

    Karenbo, you look amazing in ALL of the above!!! Love love the curly wig with red hat!!! I need one of those! And that first pic again just cracks me up everytime I see it!! Love seeing all the styles. Might as well live it up and try new looks while we can. Not everyday one can go bald or red or brown or pink or whatever we choose😉 Let's have some fun with our sinerios!!! Thanks for sharing!! This is my go to wig;) I like to wear hats with it mostly.

    Twirp, I LOVE your go to wig! Naturally, you look gorgeous, as you do bald and with hats! The wig really looks so natural; never would have guessed it was a wig.

    I enjoy playing around with the wigs, but find I can only wear them for a few hours at a time. Mostly bald at home -or warm hat if it's cold. Do wear the wigs at work so far though but may switch to a hat or turban when I work back up to full time. So glad your wig is comfortable for you Sammy! I'd likely wear my more of it were. The bald/buzz lookis growing on me though! Lol!

    I think at first I was worried that if I didn't get used to it, that when I did wear it in public it would slide around or look weird, lol. So I tried to just make it my new normal. I do live where its cold though, so I am sure that helps.

    Opt4Life - When they first attach the pod it gives a warning that it is about to inject. After that I totally forget that it is even attached to me until the warning goes of that it is about to infuse. I love it.

    Mvspaulding - I know where I go, they usually check the day before or the day of infusion to make sure counts are not too low. I can't even imagine what I would have felt like had I had my infusion.

    I too have a splotchy stubbly head. Just wish it would all fall out. Due to not having chemo this week it has started to grow back. Kind of surprised me. I still have a long way to go with chemo and would LOVE a smooth head if I have to be bald! lol I'm loving everyones pictures! You all look so beautiful!!

    Loved everyone's wigs and hats!! It's the smiles the bring it home.

    Chinacat, have a great time in Mexico!! My husband and I were suppose to go on our first cruise in February but we had to cancel since by then I'll be on weekly treatments. There is always another cruise.

    So, I had to get a drain again and the damn thing is draining even more than when he first put it in last Friday. Wasn't too bad through the weekend (about 5 CCs per day) but ever since I went to work, the level has gone up (about 15 CCs per day). Anybody who has gone through this have any ideas on how to slow the draining? I even started wearing the compression bra I came home in after surgery. It's just frustrating. He keeps telling me not to use my arm but it's really hard. I think I will have to grey tape it to my body!! LOL I was scared of my surgery but I was more terrified of the chemo. It turns out that neither one was near as bad as what I thought. It is the unknown that really scares us. Good luck to all of you that have to have surgery yet.

    you all look great in your wigs! I wish I liked mine more. It's going to be hard to get used to it again since I haven't worn it all week.

    Stotamom, I guess they won't be checking me until the day of my infusion. I don't think my levels have dropped this time around because of the shot.

    Twirp where did you get your long wig? It looks very real

    Mvspauling, I got that wig at a local shop in my area. I was told that the best way to go is a monofilament synthetic wig. Real hair takes a lot more time to style. This wig is cool because it is pretty light but what I like is the front has a mesh like fabric that makes the hairs look like they are coming out of my scalp. I still prefer the scarves and bald around the house but this works for dinner out and going public places I know people. Still wouldn't want it on all day but I'm a comfort creature😉

    Kris, sorry to hear about your drain:( I am not looking forward to that process at all!!! I hope it gets better for you soon!!

    Kris My surgeon had me press a pillow between my arm & body at all times & it slowed way down.

    Hi ladies, Stotamom, thanks for the info on the neulasta pod. My nurse told me to try it and if I didn't like it, we could resort to the office visits. I just don't want to be uncomfortable with this thing attached to me but it sounds like you aren't. Anyway, got 5 more weeks before AC and neulasta start.

    Don't forget - if you don't want to go back to the office (or do the pod), you can inject yourself. When I leave the infusion center, they give me my injection to do the next day. I give it to myself in my tummy - its not bad at all and I am not a nurse or anything. I live an hour away and I didn't want to drive back for that.

    Sammy, I don't know how you inject yourself. Not fond of needles so I don't think I could stick myself, ha. I don't watch when they do it. The pod thing worked ok for me though.

    I have a synthetic fiber wig too twirp, not real hair. Just wish they were more comfortable. The real hair wigs were so expensive and kind of creepy to me, lol.

    I get the Neulasta shot at the cancer center. I wonder if I have the option of the pod or self-injecting, or if there are stipulations like how far you have to travel. I got used to giving myself injections during the process of freezing my eggs. The first couple of times I took like 10 minutes just trying to work up the courage to stick myself. By the end I was a pro.

    It was nice to be back to my usual self this week. I worked a full 40 hours. Next week it's back to feeling like crap. The thing I'm dreading the most is the awful taste returning. I'm supposed to get a breast MRI to compare to the one I got before starting treatment. Chemopause hasn't kicked in yet. I got a visitor the other day.

    Its called a "lace front" wig, where it looks more natural. I've always had long hair, so I figured I would get long pretty wigs so that I feel more normal. Here's some pics!

    Khin, I will be with you next week. I was feeling pretty good all week. Right now, kind of hurting after getting a fill at the plastic surgeon after work. Sorry about you getting that darn visitor again. I'm really praying I won't.

    Jodes your wig looks great as well. If I ever get rid of the red bumps on my head, I will post a pic of mine. :)

    Jodes - You look beautiful in all the pictures! You wig looks very natural! I don't like this disease and what we are all having to go through, but it is fun to play around with different looks. :) And so much better since we can all share on this forum!

    My numbers were up significantly today and I was able to have chemo #5 finally!!!! Woot Woot! Only 7 more to go!!!!!

    Good luck with your next chemo's KHinMD and mvspaulding! Hope the SE are less this time.

    I am loving the fact that you go bald to the office. Wore my wig at work for the first time today and would have been a whole lot more comfortable au natural! Good luck with your treatment

    Got the buzz yesterday, and my hairdresser helped trim my one wig that I don't like as well, plus she didn't charge me a penny! She said it was her "feel good" gift. What a gal!

    puremalarkey - love you crocheted hair hat. There are a lot of creative people in the forum. I'm not one of them.

    KHinMD - I hear you on the taste thing. I didn't have that SE the first time but the second time I did. Lasted about 1 1/2 weeks. I go Thursday for my 3rd AC infusion. Going by faster than what I thought.

    hi ladies!! I'm day 3 after treatment and I am sooooo emotional today:( is anyone else experiencing crazy emotions right after treatment? I am so irritated one minute then I'm crying the next. I feel like a crazy person😞 Bad day for Twirp today

    sorry you are having a bad day Twirp. Ever since I was diagnosed I feel like I can cry at the drop of a hat. Be kind to yourself and take care. Hope tomorrow is better.

    1. imagehi everyone! You all look so pretty in your wigs and hats! My WBC continue to drop 7 days after every infusion even though I get neulasta. Hoping they are good to go for AC #3 on Monday. My hair started falling out 2 days after AC #2 and I finally had hubby buzz it off last Saturday. I cried for days but now I have accepted and am having fun with my wigs. imageimage
