30 minute walking DVD with Leslie Sansone today. I would not have realized I had this DVD if someone on the thread hadn't mentioned using it, so thank you (can't recall who!).
-
Brrrr, cold for me in Florida! Wore a sweatshirt and walked and then went to the gym and rode the bike for 10 miles. I have a bike but the tires need air!
I am looking forward to all the classes offered in The Villages when I move. Patoo will be my guide!
-
1/13- got to the busy and LOUD gym tonight for a resistance work out for 40 minutes. Also a 20 min walk around my client complex today too. Started a new contract recently and trying to walk around the building complex once a day for the days I am on site. It has been snowy, then very cold here but got back out there today!
Bad at Usernames- very sorry to hear the news about the mets. Sending you light and love and best wishes for a successful procedure. We look forward to having you hear with us again when you are feeling better.
-
Mary...have a wonderful trip.....look forward to seeing pictures and hearing all about it
Ruth....I haven't bought a lotto ticket probably since the last century!!! but today, I splurged and bought 4 powerball tickets!!! I would happily settle for a fraction of the total....enough to pay for DD's university education and lots of travel!!!
Its warmed up for a few days, today it was near 50 so had a couple great walks...it was so nice walking at 25 degrees rather than 10 degrees before work!!! and during the day, barely needed a coat, and most of the snow is melted off the streets....there is still some ice on side walks where it is melting from the grass and running onto the sidewalk so I tend to walk in the street.... but cold will be back this week-end...

Finally checking in. Am officially enrolled in the Cupid Undie Run! No wimping out now.
Reporting that the La Perla silk bra is everything I expected and more. Can't wait to wear. Sexy, wonderful feeling, and even comfortable. All this despite underwires. Talk about spicing things up a bit!
Bad at User Names....so very sorry to hear your news. Did you hear about the new initiative Cancer MoonShot 2020? Being spearheaded by Joe Biden. The head physician is Patrick Wen of Dana Farber, someone our nonprofit works with. Worth looking into. Obama mentioned it last night on his State of the Union.
When I was watching the press briefing yesterday, it dawned on me that the benefit of exercise could be that it helps inhibit some of the mutations that cause metastases. Just a theory of mine.
That said, I will go for being confident enough to do an Undie Run. Wish me luck. - Claire
-
Any Powerball winners here???
Claire, will you be running in your La Perlas?
I also believe in your theory re: exercise. Exercise can also lengthen telomeres, so affects overall health.
BodyJam last night.
-
Not me! What's three numbers getcha? Or what does 2 and the powerball one do? Everybody, Ruthbru, Patoo, all of you who had lunch and fun with Slowdeepbreathes and I in San Diego that day, if you can hold her safe in your minds and heart, she is having a really tough time and may have suffered a small stroke. She is getting more tests, and will know if she is following in her mothers footsteps with ALS. I know you love her too, and will want to be holding her up.
And thank you so much too ruth for that info about my tablemate there, and hope by the time I get around to contacting her, she won't have forgotten all about me!
You guys are the best, maybe next time, San Francisco?
-
Ruth - I guess we're going to have to postpone that history trip, unless the WWW traveled to California, Florida or Tennessee to buy your PowerBall tickets. Wait, my SIL lives in Chino Hills, where one of the winning tix was purchased. Hmmmmmmm . . .
Odie - did you say something about your birthday?? Happy Birthday!!
Kitty - I'm sorry about SlowDeepBreaths - I've seen her name go by so many times here on BCO. Thanks for letting us know. Holding her in my thoughts.
Packing, unpacking, re-packing, and generally running around like a crazy woman have been my exercise the last few days. Crazy N Sculpt?
-
Tomboy, thanks for the update on slowdeepbreaths, I will send her a card. If anyone else would like her address, you can PM me or Tomboy and we will gladly send it along.
We are thinking about New York City for this summer. When Badger checked, the June dates we had talked about were already booked at the Wyndham. Badger had listed some August dates (which didn't work very well for me), maybe we need to look in July? (I have a PM for Badger, so when she surfaces we will try to pin things down.) Of people who may be interested....what does your July look like?
-
Oh yes, zumba & yoga last night. Since I didn't win the Powerball & therefore am not on my private jet to Hawaii, I will go to Cardio Sculpt this morning.
-
ruthbru, please PM me slowdeepbreaths address. Thanks. I'm expecting guests probably in July but no dates set yet. Guessing it may be early part of the month. July might be hard to get NY as well.
Sorry, I did not travel down to Melbourne FL to buy the winning ticket so you all will have to pay your own way whereever we go as I won't be able to treat. Interestingly, on my flight home from DC after Christmas I sat next to a Korean War vet from Melbourne. We talked for a bit as he had trouble hearing the steward (who gave him free snacks after he asked the price). Wouldn't it be neat if he is the FL winner! (wonder if he would remember me, the lady who opened his can of chips?)
Exercise free day today.
Night sculpted friends.
-
My hubbie bought tickets online for the first time and they sent him an e-mail that he was a winner! Well $8. LOL.
Mary, I'm looking forward to hearing about your trip. Post some pictures and give us a travelogue. I want to plan a trip for March but I can't even narrow down where I want to go.
It's funny, I kind of don't have to check the weather here in IL because I can see what Karen's weather was yesterday. Today we had the warm up too, from the 12 degree highs to 45 today. Feels like spring! Walked 40 minutes this morning in my light coat! Mommyof2 in CT, maybe you'll see the warm up tomorrow!
-
1/14- short 20 min walk around the client building today. Exhausting week and rest tonight. Gym tomorrow!
-
Thanks Natsfan for the birthday wishes. Today was the big day so my only exercise was fork-n-sculpt...LOL. Love the term crazy-n- sculpt. That is me regularly.
Sending light and positive juju to slowdeepbreaths.
-
I bought 4 powerball tickets and managed to get 1 number between all 4 tickets!!! waste of $10 I can't remember the last time I bought a lotto ticket.....if I buy again it will just be one ticket!!
I'd love to join up if people meet, but I'm hoping to travel July to August next summer, so June is best for me....if the dates don't work, I'll share in the fun by seeing pictures..... I no longer plan far in advance so I won't plan my summer till May or June!!!
-
Odie, happy birthday to you👑! Mary, have a lovely time relaxing, feeling the warmth with a breeze to cool...and St. Lucia is on my bucket list. This morning I'm taking our 92 year old neighbour for a drive in the icy cold sunshine, to view the morning frost. Simple pleasures, eh?
Gym later in the afternoon.
-
hi all, was so nice yesterday (35 & sunny!) that we walked at lunchtime and I also walked after work. Will walk at lunch again today and enjoy a brief respite as the polar vortex returns tomorrow.
RE: vacation plans, I'm flexible. The last week of June is the end of our fiscal year so a no-go for vacation and also have a family wedding in mid-Sept but other than that could do most anything.
Happy Birthday, odie!
-
Another workout planned for later today.
-
I'm flexible any time. August is probably really hot in NY - is summer the only time for most people, or could we do a spring or fall trip? Wherever we go, there will be fewer tourists in the off season, and it's won't be so hot. The Sculpted Sisters who visited DC a few years ago in July remember that heat - it was only 100 degrees the day we walked miles going to all the monuments! Fun, but absolutely draining.
30 minute run this morning.
-
What about skip New York and do San Antonio in the spring (April?) or fall (October?)?
-
Ruth you had me at San Antonio. . .seriously though I'll have to live vicariously through your pictures. We're traveling in early April, ( two National Parks and Gatlinburg on the way to IN to see my mother) we make weekend trips through the summer and I'll be at a convention in Pittsburg in early Nov. Guess that's my year.
I was going to skip out of the gym today because I've been working crazy hours. Dh beat me to the punch and offered to bring my gym clothes and tablet when he picked me up from my commuter bus. So I'm at the gym feeding my Fitbit.
Tomorrow is my dd's 20th birthday which is amazing because I'm only "29."

It is so weird (and cool) when you find your kids and their friends all grown up. We have had the same group of people over for Christmas Eve for decades (before some of the 'kids' were born), and this Christmas I realized that after supper all of us, parents & children, were sitting around the table having a totally adult conversation.....not kid centered or censored, just a free flow of conversation. Wow!
Yoga this morning, subbed in 6th grade this afternoon & then did tons of errands. It is supposed to be 'bone chilling cold' this weekend so I wanted to get as much running around done as possible.
-
I have just been looking at the Wyndham Resort openings for 4 day slots; which I think we will want (over 3 days) if we are coming from far away.
*There don't seem to be any 4 day opening in NYC until the end of October
*San Antonio didn't have 4 days in April, some in May, the end of October had many choices
* New Orleans, which has been mentioned before as a possible destination, didn't have anything until the end of May (which will already be HOT) and are also pretty booked for fall
* There are a number of resorts in Florid;, spring is already busy, we could get into most of them in the fall, summer will be broiling hot
Opinions???
-
We had a big storm this morning with tornado warnings.....4 inches of rain and a lot of wind. Then, it stopped, the sun came out and it warmed up! So, I went for a 4 mile walk under blue skies.
One more week until I move so I have been packing lamps and shades. I really need to get rid of some stuff!!!
I hope The Villages allow garage sales!
-
Worked at home today so went out for a run earlier. This in anticipation of the "Love 'em or Leave 'em" and Cupid Undie Run. Have my "attire" for the latter which is a D&G silk bustier/camisole, black with red roses on it. Think very appropriate. (Still need opaque black boxer bottoms.)
I finally have figured out the location, and appropriately, can take the S.L.U.T. to get there. (No kidding, it's now called the "South Lake Union Line", but the original word was "transit". Too late, they realized what the acronym was.)
Hoping to get out skiing Monday. Will be at the grindstone until then. Got a major new project earlier today. (My birthday is cancelled this year, but I will take that. Good champagne with seafood makes a dandy condolence prize.)
I can report that the silk La Perla bra is worth every penny. Sensual, plus more than does the job.
Want to warn everyone that NYC in July and August can be even hotter than Florida. I have not forgotten nearly fainting in the heat, and all the gorgeous silk blouses ruined in the subway. Don't do it!!! (But then, I despise hot weather.)
YIKES....my weights await me. - Claire
-
Too funny about the S.L.U.T. Claire. It reminds me of a story that happened many years ago (when things weren't all automated) and the convicts at the state penitentiary were making the state's license plates as part of their work program. One year, when people were renewing, they started getting the most obscene licenses in the mail. It took awhile before the authorities realized that it was not by coincidence and put a stop to it. At least you would never forget your license number when filling out forms!
-
Hi all, Did a 30 minute Leslie Sansone DVD again today and really enjoyed it. Will sleep well tonight!
Good night all
-
hi, I'm still pages behind but want to say my vote is for San Antonio this fall.
edit to add: caught up now, sending ((hugs)) to Badatusernames and SDB.
-
Happy Saturday all! I walked 50 minutes today. Its colder again today but not as cold as tomorrow will be, so I wanted to get a good walk in today. No swans on the lake today, nor any other waterfowl. The lake is frozen over.
-
Mary you'll be winging your way to the Caribbean or maybe even be there by now, happy vacation. Odie Happy Belated Birthday. Ruth can you send me SDBs address, I thought I had it but can't find it, thank you Tomboy for keeping us in the loop. I didn't win the powerball either, I didn't even buy a ticket. I dont mind where we go on our trip this yearjust as long as we keep up the tradition and I though of my SoCal Dreaming girls again today as I went to the Bluewater Grill for lunch, the restaurant I took you to on the water in Newport.
Finally went to the gym this morning and did Body Combat, first time I've been there in days, have just been doing lots of walking with my houseguest, trouble is we walk into restaurants and eat, I'm dreading getting on the scale but I sure will miss her when she returns to Australia next weekend.
