Wednesday Weigh In

Peggy do you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep? I find exercise helps me fall asleep better that night, so maybe that would help your insomnia. I also have a relaxation app on my phone and one called nature sounds. I can fall asleep to the sound of the rainforest or a hot summer night. I love that! There is evidence lack of sleep can affect your weight and increase your insulin resistance. I find trouble staying asleep is related to stress. I take 100 mg gabapentin for that when I need it.
I didn't like my scale this morning but I hope it's too much salt because I didn't feel like I ate that much yesterday.
-
I am up .4 this week. Not too bad and better than yesterday.
-
Up 1 to 135.5. I'll probably just keep gaining since I have a PCP appt Monday and they will weigh me.
-
Scale did not laugh at me so guess I'm holding steady at whatever I was at last time I checked in. Today was 167.6 so will start there for 2016 stats.
-
Speaking of stats, I am up 2 kilos from my low in 2015, but I'm exactly in the same spot now as the end of 2014. Whatever the scale says, happy New Year to all my wanna-be loser friends! This thread does help me to maintain and that is still pretty good for me.
-
I am up two from before Christmas...but down two from the day after.
Happy New Years! We all keep plugging away & I think that deserves a toast (or maybe some toast....no butter ).
-
Happy New Year all. Tomorrow is my birthday so in that honor you all may have a toast (with wine, not butter) to me tonight.
-
Happy Birthday Patoo! Enjoy!
-
Happy Birthday, Patoo! Sadly (for me) we are no longer twins. You are skinnier. I'm weighing in at my all time high, but I threw away a whole tin of cookies last night and resisted the sweets available at my mother's house today. Pat on the back for me!
Wishing everyone will power and good health for 2016!
-
Belated Happy birthday, Patoo! I allowed myself another glass of wine also belatedly.
-
I'm going to get a head start and post "up 2 pounds" from Christmas to new year. At least it's only 2. I'll weigh in again Wednesday for the accountability.
-
Reader, I consider only 2 lbs a triumph! I went up 6 lbs from before Thanksgiving to after Christmas. I was down half a lb. this morning and am working on preparing meals with lots of veggies.
-
Thank you for the encouragement Carole! Good for you starting back on the downward trend! I'll find out tomorrow if I am...
Onward and downward (As Patoo so nicely said)!
-
We'll see what tomorrow brings! (Hmm, maybe I should bypass any more food tonight!)
-
Starting the New Year Coundown at 135.00. My weight was good at the doctor along with the lowest BP reading I've had in years. Talk about thrilled - both doc and me. They had just uped my BP meds, so glad to see they were working.
-
Up .4 this week. Was down yesterday - should have posted then! Lasagna will get ya each time! Okay, next week will do better.
-
My excuse for gaining one pound this week is that I've been on antibiotics (nuisance UTI) and feel icky when I don't eat (heavy things like bread & mashed potatoes). I took the last pill just now, so will have to come up with another excuse if I am still up next week!
-
I'm up ,6 this week. It seems eating a burger and waffle fries was not a good idea even if I only ate half the burger. Makes me mad though, that I can't even eat half a fattening meal. Back on the wagon.
-
TwoHobbies, if you had eaten the whole burger your would have been up 1.2. The .6 was a reward for not eating the whole thing!
-
Is there anything better than a good burger and good fries? A burger is one of my favorite splurges.
I had a bad day yesterday. Dug out a hunk of frozen fruit cake from the freezer. But tonight I'm skipping my cocktail. I am, I am!
My goal is to be able to report next Wed. that I'm down 3 lbs. I've been out shopping for clothes this week and seeing myself in the mirror in the fitting room is NOT a pleasure.
-
Back down 1.6 thankfully. I had NO chocolate yesterday and did pretty well today
-
2 pair workout pants going in donate bin - too big - YAY! (yes, could pin at waist but that wouldn't be fun
-
Excellent Patoo! No fun at all pinning. I say a pretty new replacement pair should be on the horizon for all the hard work!
-
Great job, patoo!
-
Yay, Patoo!
-
Patoo that's the best feeling to throw away clothes because they are too big. Good work.
I'm back in good mode but now my husband is running to get a pie. I told him I'm not eating any because sugar causes cancer. Now I have to stick to that!
-
Love to hear of downsizing in this way, Patoo!
I will only have soup for the next two nights and then weigh in on Wednesday.
-
I am down .8 to 130.5. I didn't eat any of my husbands pie-not one bite. But we had a new employee start so we take them to lunch. Guess what he selected-Red Robin, home of the evil burger and fries. It's freezing cold here so salad wasn't appealing so I did get a burger but got sweet potato fries. I ate the whole burger except left half the bun and ate one full serving of sweet potato fries and I'm down not only for the week but since yesterday. So once again I have noticed I can't eat white potato at all.
I thought I'd pass that along. There was a recent study that people do react differently to different foods and so if you feel you're not overeating but having problems, perhaps it's some food you are choosing.
-
I'm down 1 lb. Better than up l lb!
-
Slightly up/same.
Twohobbies interesting observation about white potatoes and the impact of different foods on us individually. May experiment here.
