LOVED meeting Molly50 in LA!!! Molly had a meeting, so my DH and I hung out in the Walt Disney Concert Hall gift shop. Then, this lady comes up behind me and said, "Sloan? I recognized you from the back (of you head).'" We laughed and hugged. We had a lovely and amazing tour, ate a bite of lunch, comforted each other as necessary--she is a beautiful person inside and out!-- and then we parted ways...only to see each other in the gift shop once more! (MOLLY, didn't get the clock but got another piano CD). Wonderful memory!

I will have you all know I got laid on chemo day four. :

Today was my second day back at work, I got really tired in the afternoon so I sat down for about 15 minutes and took an anti-nausea and. I'm feeling good now. I have gone for a 30 minute walk every day, it does make me feel better for a while afterwards. Now that I am off of steroids, insomnia is a thing of the past. I fell asleep at nine last night and woke up at 7:30 this morning!

    Hi Ladies!

Just popping in to say Hi! Had my appt today with BS before surgery Thursday! Thursday, I cant believe I just said that! 😳

I just took an Ativan for the first time to see how I feel before taking it Thursday.

So far I am feeling ok & ready for this! Tomorrow night may be a different story.

I am getting a SNB along with a lift. So I guess a little more recovery ahead of me!

    Hugs to all of you!!

JerseyRenee, I have never taken Ativan, how did it feel?

Good luck on Thursday, big hugs, you've got this!!!!

(You will be getting a breast lift? I'm a bit confused?

    LovesToFly:

Thank you! Hope you are doing better with your chemo! It hard for me to catch up.

So far almost an hour since took Ativan. Just feeling relaxed.

I am a small A cup. The calcifications are on left side of left breast. So he said after remove he needs to fill. I guess he will move stuff around & since both my breasts hang a little he will raise them up. Will do right one to match. I told him good luck working with the little he has! Ha!!!

thanks for clarifying, it does sound like it will take a little more recovery, but I'm sure you will fly through it!

Chemo is okay so far, as long as I take meds when I need them, stay hydrated, stay active and get to bed early!!

My evil breast is is so lumpy now, I'm deciding whether or not I want to get it fixed after I'm done on my treatment. Luckily it still looks OK in her bra, bikini (yes I've worn one since lx!) and clothing, so I don't know if it's really worth another surgery.

LovestoFly...yep, might be a record but, hey...am so happy that you are able to keep or make a "new normal" that works for you. Do not let cancer get your best self...but also, do not do anything you aren't ready to do...that said....sounds like it was a good time...YAY!

Chisandy - You look amazing!!! Whoa! talk about under pressure now!

Loves to Fly - You're doing so well with Chemo, thank goodness! I'm laughing, I had zero trouble with intimacy through Chemo either LOL.

Sloan and Molly - What a gorgeous pic! So great you both got to catch up, made me feel soooo far away from everyone.

Jerseyrenee - HOw's that Ativan? I found it really helped ALOT! Slow and steady, for Thursday! xo

Uuuugh, well the lovely Pap Smear is out the way...the nurse did ring pathology first though??? she wanted to make sure as Im only 4 weeks post chemo that the results wouldnt be affected showing abnormalities of any sort due to treatment. Huh??? they said it was fine but to note it on the slip. I walked out of there sooo flat all of a sudden that same vulnerability came back, teared up on the way home I guess after the past year. Yet I have no reason to think about it. :(

LovestoFly... You got laid??? I'm so jealous!!

    ChiSandy... Not 64... 49! Seriously!

Jersey... We may be surgery sisters;)

So... I met with Dana farber in Boston today and that's where I'm staying put. World of difference and I feel happy, empowered and confident. Second opinions are so very important.

My MRI from yesterday shows 1.8cm... That's a big diff from 6-7mm after us. That was a buzz kill to hear that. But they are tentatively scheduling me for surgery THURSDAY!! They are just waiting for the head radiologist as he was in a meeting tonight. I'll know for sure at 7am tomorrow. I'm a bit nervous because it was two weeks out at first. Then the bs checked the MRI as it didn't come through before my appt... And now it's like... Let's do this. I'm concerned that she is scheduling so quickly, but at the same time elated. She decided on lx and snb with a radioactive seed vs wire guided. I really liked this surgeon a lot and she has done the seed guided for 4 months now and not one patient needed a second surgery for clear margins.

I also love my new Med onc. Everything felt right today. But I do have to go in tomorrow am for a follow up MRI on a spot they saw on my liver via ct scan. Leaving the house at 6:15am.

    Night night!😴

thanks all! It was definitely for me, my husband would never, ever push me (he is a very kind, gentle guy!). I just felt okay and craved the closeness!

Melclarity I'm sorry the pap brought some fears back.

I had a colonoscopy 2 weeks before my surgery. It sucked to have another (and a yucky one) medical thing to deal with in the middle of everything, and I felt so vulnerable (but they found a polyp, so I'm so glad I didn't stall).

mlp good luck! I'm glad yourefeeling good about your care. I did the seed and it was easy...very similar to a biopsy. My bs also said she has had better margins with it and has a very low rate of unclear margins since switching.

I hear you on the 2nd opinion. I chose them as well! Today I left with a calm through me READY to do this! It been going on since October.

    Glad you had a positive day today!! {{HUGS}}

    Thanks for all the welcomes!

I had a second biopsy today, same breast, different mass, this one is only 5mm. BS Doc said if it comes back some wrong way it could mean I won't be able to have IORT. That will truly suck. This one hurt and my breast is much more sore then with my first one.

I also had an appt in the Lymphedema clinic today; had a bioimpedance(sp?), photographs and measurements done. I joked with the Lymphedema Doc that I should get a ring to wear on my right hand and he said "Yes you should. That's a really great idea!"

My pre-op is Thursday and an appt with the oncology dietician on Tuesday.

LovestoFly... I've been craving the closeness with my husband too. But I'm afraid I'll start crying because the "girls" have become such a dark cloud. That's what has been holding me back. And dh adores the girls... So many mixed emotions.

If I have surgery Thursday, maybe tomorrow night will be a belated bday present to my DH lol!!! God knows I could relieve a little stress too. But you all may hear me... Even in Australia. It's a been a while because of all of this😝

mlp I've cried several times after lovemaking. The girls (who we both loved and were a big part of intimacy) have been off limits since I found the lump, it's hard but still...worth it. For me anyways. I may gently direct him towards the good one soon and see how that goes. I know he's following my lead.

MLP3, so glad that you felt good about Dana-Farber. One of my co-workers who had breast cancer in '96 the ovarian cancer in '05 is an MGH patient. At her last oncologist visit, he mentioned that though they used to be the best rated, Dana-Farber has passed them by for cancer treatment. (Didn't want to mention that until you made your decision!) My MO is Dr. Yung and she is fantastic, and my sister in law's MO is Dr. Morgenstern, who she loves. I think they all must be terrific, though. :) You are in good hands, and getting the show on the road, which is great.

You ladies are so strong! I'm glad that you've found the healing and comforting that being intimate can bring. I miss that. MLP3, maybe that's what you need - to cry. Let DH comfort you. I think it's worth a try!

I suspect that others here will be heartened by your frank and open discussion of sex and BC. It's vital. Thank you for sharing!

    HUGS!
