Hormone theropy

I don't know if I can do the hormone theropy. It will probably be amiridex and the se sound unbearable. Hair loss, weight gain, bone pain, vision problems. It seems everything that makes me who I am is being taken away. I can't do this.

Those are all possible side effects. Some people have some of them, some have none. I, for one, lost weight on arimidex. Loved that side effect! The only known vision problem is a small chance of cataract development, which may or may not happen even without the drug, and for which an excellent surgical repair is available.

I had joint pain and a lot of shedding, but absolutely nobody could tell I had less hair.

Do check out the other aromatase inhibitor threads.

And remember that those who gripe about their side effects here are the ones who have them--lots and lots of women have absolutely no side effects and, with nothing to post about, you will not find them here..

Thank you for posting. I'm just literally on the verge of tears every moment the closer my surgery is. Anywho thank you for your feedback.

Has anyone on Letrazole noticed side effects in particular hot flushes and weight gain? Having experienced both on Tamoxifen and having been off it for six months with weight loss and no flushes I am not keen on taking any more drugs but of course worry about not doing so

I’ve been on Letrozole a couple of weeks--no hot flushes, but more sweating, especially at night (so I put my hair up in a clip for sleep to keep it off my neck so it doesn’t get wet and then dry kinky/frizzy). Because I was told it might cause weight gain, and also was warned that my obesity puts me at risk for both LE and recurrence, I went back on my low-carb diet and made a conscious attempt to move more and sit less. Down 2 lbs. since Christmas. No other SEs I didn’t already have as preexisting symptoms (have been growing a couple of cataracts>10 yrs now, and after replacing my knees still have creaky hips, spine & ankles). Hair isn’t thinning more than it was before (in fact, noticed less in the shower drain & on my comb). So far, so good.
